A funny thing happened on the way to the chicane.

here’s some replay form the incident I posted about.

maybe it was lag? but it looks like he turns across me. There’s little bit of bumping on the right hander on the way to the chicane but as you can see from the in car, where I drive from, it was very minimal. Got called an idiot and got a 4 second penalty 🤬

I'm going to have to learn how to make some videos. Race A in a B/B room and one dirty driver bulldozing the traffic. Give me a BS penalty for your bad driving? It's time to play soccer (with the help of another driver he sideswiped). Perfect execution. Saved the replay in the library.

So I posted my vid on Reddit and of the five responses all say it’s my fault?? Yeah it’s not the best place to make a move but if the other driver is aware enough you can brake alongside them and get into the turn first. Wouldn’t have tried that if there was traffic behind me but it was worth a pop. I was going in a straight line if you look at the wheel I didn’t turn in to him.

You didn't turn into him but your trajectory was towards the outside of the track.
With such minimal overlap the sensible thing to do is to lift slightly and tuck in behind.
Going two wide into the chicane, you're either going to clip the inside wall on the first apex or get run wide onto the grass on the exit. Both car losing time in the process with nothing gained.

Edit: the other guy also seemed to turn right just before contact so you could say he pitted himself off the track. Very silly of him.

Yeah, I know it was tight. From onboard it just felt/looked like he turned right. I can see I was heading to the left a little more than I thought, it all happened so quickly.
It wasn’t my intention to take him out

Why do I have the feeling I might be a regular visitor here when I go back to online racing...

I didn't mean to suggest that. The worst that would have come of you slightly squeezing him would have been some mild side contact with little to no consequence. The disastrous outcome was mostly due to the fact that he turned right just as the cars made contact.

Looked like you needed some backup on reddit 👍 I think it was your fault but more of a 🤬 happens than a malicious takedown.

I think its kinda like making a move at the COD on Dragontrail SS, its just not a wise spot to try to pass.

I typed out a response on the PS4 then got an error when I hit submit and it disappeared

A few weeks ago when that track came up in FIAs I had problems at that corner. Because of how narrow the chicane is you can't be side by side at all, and if you try any kind of move you're going to cost yourself and the other car several seconds. The only way you can really go for a move is if you're much closer coming out of the penultimate corner and have a much clearer run on the other car. Even then, if you're on the left there, would you give up that position?

I think he started moving across quite early (I don't think he realised there would even be contact, which is probably why he spun out so quickly) but that was probably to try and cover you from getting alongside and slowing you both down.

When there's a lack of intent, I'd file it under mistake/racing incident.

Quadruple pit manoeuvre (purely accidental)
I don't have a video up yet, but...
He clipped the barrier at the chicane, started to lose it and I expected his car to ghost, but it didn't. I hit him... several times... right into pit lane.
It was purely accidental and I apologized after the race.
Edit: I'm not proud of this...

Next time I'll take the alternate chicane...

I think my wreckfest race belongs here instead of the blooper thread. The chatroom before the race gave it away that they were going to DR reset me, so I had fun with every brake check, sideswipe, pit, and anything else they threw at me. In between dodging bullets, I lined up for speed runs to catch back up... several times.

An online player brake-checked me, I was about to overtake him to get into first place, the thing is, he got pushed into a barrier, and even though I got a penalty, he got one too for hitting a wall

(justice served well)

Race A with the Teletubby racers again. I knew this was going bad 0.5 seconds after the clock started. I pulled over to the right to let everyone go ahead but got a slight tap from behind. They don't know how to steer a Porsch. I lost track of who was pushing who.

I added a cockpit view of the previous Wreckfest...

The next Race A a while later... Same thing. Some of them eventually get it and we have clean races together, others don't. Obvious teamwork going on in the chat and races... "Hit them hard"

I did a 720 and ended up nosed into a wall, and still caught up before he could even get to the next penalty zone. I can see why it's easier to start at the rear. Every time I start near the front I'm a target, start at the rear and they can't catch up as you pass them one by one.

I wasn't anywhere near this guy but I passed him after he got knocked off the track by someone else, into the back of the race. As he caught up (he's fast) he bumped around everyone else but not causing too much mayhem until he got to me...

He ended up in last place for being a 🤬

I have never seen such a pathetic Kudos profile.

With driving like that it's no wonder.:banghead: That driver needs to go do something else instead of ruining GtSport for other people. đź’ˇ

All right, so this guy's karma wasn't instantaneous.
He blasted me at turn 1, but I thought maybe he got hit from behind, and was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
He quickly proved that it was no accident.

After the race, of course I gave him a veiled threat.
Wouldn't you know it? He was lined up right behind me in the next one. :)
At the start, I hit the options button, so he could drive through my ghost. It wasn't hard to catch back up.
No idea why he didn't take evasive action, but it wouldn't have mattered. Justice was served. 👍
