It seems very quiet right now so lets get some racing going!
First off we are going to be racing a hot lap in midfield raceway
in simulation mode with a integra type R. Here are the rules.

Must buy the integra type R New (japanese version)
Do the oil change afterwards ( extra Hp)
Buy the racing tranny.
race in midfield race way.

That's about it. as all of you know the timer doesn't start until you
hit the start mark, try stopping just before the timer starts (you
might wanna do this several time to know where the timer starts
excatly). Also the racing tranny, you can change the rations of it. But that's it the car has to be complety stock. Please no cheating
this means you have to keep all the tires on track at all times and now wall riding.Ok guys that's it let get it on. you can post a video of it if you can too to prove this or pictures if you don't have a video camera.I'm off to set my time you guys do the same.

Moved to an appropriate forum

AO

well i was bored so heres my time... 1'37.228

I'm back. I was messing with the car's ratios just to get it right. After that I went to the course and raced here's my results.

Track time 1'36.076
top speed 115mph
0-60mph 6.969sec

That what I got on the track. I know some of U guys are really good so lets see your times. I took pictures of the time also.

Is this an open challenge?
And do you mean we can build the car in simulation, and run in Arcade or Machine Testing to dial it in?

Or is there a specific race you want us to do for the time?

Gil, i'm not trying to be an ass but didn't you read my first post.
its pretty clear to me. Anyways what is it that you don't get exactly.

its on now:)
this is wanna be fun cause the one with the right ratios on the tranny plus driving skills will do better.anyways good luck to everybody

I've now quoted you so I can try using small words to explain what you need to explain (I'm not trying to be an ass BTW).

You said we'd be pulling a 'hot lap' in simulation mode.
Then what you describe sounds a lot like a Stop at the start/finish line, then run your lap in what is commonly known as the arcade mode.
However, there is a place we can do set-ups in Simulation mode that allows the use of Midfield raceway, and would be usable for this type of comp.
Otherwise, there are Three different classes: Beginner, Amatuer, and Professional in Sim mode, with numerous places where we might encounter Midfield raceway in a one of two directions.
I'm just asking for some clarification.

Hot lapping is usually run in the 'Free Run' mode in Arcade, and you run lap after lap trying to whittle your time down to your fastest run.
In this mode I ran 1'29.544 BTW.

Seeing this, and remembering that you ran 1'36, I figured I needed some clarification. Cause frankly, I just ain't that fast.

My original question pertained (oops, big word)...was about the length of time this challenge would be ongoing and relevant.
If you were going to take times till Friday (for instance), I need to get hot on my day off this week.
If it's indefinite, then I could 'put it on a back burner'.

Pardon my stong sarcasm, but I've been awake for many hours, worked like a dog, then been told that I should know what's going on in your head.:irked:
(Maybe it's just the "I'm not trying to be an ass" comment that got me going)

I've clarified my questions. Please clarify your challenge.

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

GETTEM GIL!!!!!

lol no really I didnt really understand the challenge either........ did he mean the one place in your garage where you can run hot laps in simulation mode? And is there a difference between that and the arcade free run mode?

On the one hand it pleases me to know that I'm not the only one that is somewhat confused.

Cleveland, Sorry I "went for the throat". I'm old and cranky.

ok i think i may have done it wrong to cos i got 1'29.343 and im not that fast either, please explain again what u wanted me to do cos i doubt i would have beaten you by 7 seconds or so :odd:, or maybe i just rule :p j/k;)

Ok Gil, sorry about that I'm going explain this more.Yes the car
has to be run in the home area, where run & settings are. Just
go to the midfield race and run there. Another note to add to that
is the problems where you guys are running your faster laps. When you guys first start the free run on the midfield raceway, you notice right away that the timer doesn't start until you cross the finish line. so with that in mind try running your car slowly to the finish line until the timer starts. Once you know the exact point where the timer starts try running the track! (I usually use the first person view to determined the precise starting point of the timer). Ok that's it. I hope you guys get it now. I went to all this trouble because I want to give the guys with good ratios an advantage from the starting point(off the line acceleration). There you go guys try beating my time now:D

Thank you,
I'll give it a shot tommorow or Friday.

so u want me to stop at the line, then go?

Okay, I set up an ITR.
Dit the "tranny trick" and set my final drive to 4.49 after a couple of runs.
For ease, I put the car into first person view and positioned myself right smack in the middle of the number 1 starting position.
After experimenting with a few starting techniques, I settled on a "brake stand" start.
Slid off the brake as the tach passed thru 6000 rpm. I ran a 1'35.812.
I'm tired, but I see where there may be another half second that I might be able to get out of there.
I figure Boombexus, Lotus, or UB57 could get 1.5 secs (or more)out of her.
More to follow...

pretty good run gil, but did you drive the entire course clean?

I mean all four tires in the course. BTW what kind of ratios
did you have on you integra If you share yours i'll share mines.
Also my tranny ratios are pretty good maybe even better yours.

1:36.061

All clean :)

Holy sH**! [xms]dan_, you beat me by hundreds of a seconds, good run buddy. Now I'm going to have and play the game again to do a better lap:D . Ok so far its the leaders are:

1- Gil 1'35.812

2- [xms]dan_ 1'36.061

3- Cleveland 1'36.076

4- Ryen 1'37.228

Good Job guys, keep it up. You can still be 1#
Anyother challengers?

It was a clean run.
I have found that getting a wheel in dirt usually throws you off the line, or just plain slows you down.

As for my ratios. Do a search on the "Tranny Trick".
I'm not in a position to explain it right now.
Once you do the "trick" your ratios will be microscopically close.
You just fiddle with the final drive to get the top end you want.

Thanks Gil, but I'm pretty happy with my ratios. My integra has
very high top end, as I said in my previous post I got a 115mph in one the straight in the course, plus my 0-60mph is quick too at 6.9sec:)

I ran over 120 with my ratios.
Just give this a try.
Reset your tranny to stock.
Then run the final drive out to it's highest numerical value.
Run the "sport's-wide" slider to it's minimum numerical value.
Then reset your final drive to get the top end you desire.
For this I ran 4.53, then dropped to 4.49 to raise my top speed a titch.
I guess that I'll have to run a few more laps to catch Dan.:D

Didnt mess to much with the trans just set it to rev out at the end of the 2nd straight this got me just a 1.36.762.:)

I wanna see that vid [xms_dan], why don't you host it here so we can see it. Anyways good run I guess I have to run the track again. Oh and gil, I'm gonna try your ratios on my integra but I doubt you got 120mph on the straights, I'm not saying your lying but that's pretty high to me, I would've believe 117 or something but 120. SO i'll try your ratios to see if its true.

The vid's 19mb atm, every time I encode it, it's just bad quality :/ I'll upload it ASAP, I'd upload it as is but it'll eat my bandwidth.
