Right, I've noticed no-one has really pulled this off with all classes - for good reason possibly! Anyway I've decided to do ONE RACE at La Sarthe to see how well this works. If it does then a championship will follow. This is a 2011 series so please don't ask "can i use my 787 / gt-one / speed 8 etc" because the answer is definitely NO. Also each class is going to be limited to 1 of each car to give a good mix of P1, P2 and GTE cars.

All cars are set up to the 2011 ILMC Specification and have been tested against the qualifying times of the 2011 Le Mans 24hr. As there are no LMP2 cars in the game I have taken a selection of pre 2005 open cockpit prototypes and limited them down to LMP2 power to weight ratios.

LMP1

Audi R10 TDI - 555bhp / 925kg's
Peugeot 908 HDI FAP Team Total - 530bhp / 930kg's - FragMeCG
Peugeot 908 HDI FAP Oreca Matmut - 530bhp / 930kg's - Knight_Sprit
Pescarolo C60 Hybrid Judd - 540bhp / 950kg's - Provisionally Taken
Pescarolo C60 Judd - 540bhp / 950kg's

LMP2

BMW V12 LMR - 450bhp / 950kg's - Saggyscrot / ps3dan01
Audi R8 LMS - 450bhp / 950kg's
Pescarolo Courage C60 '03 - 450bhp / 950kg's

GTE-Pro

Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06 RM - 470bhp / 1245kg's - HMSMotorsport
Ford GT Spec II LM - 445bhp / 1245kg's
Ferrari 458 Italia - 470bhp / 1245kg's
Schulz Motorsport GT-R - Not officially in, subject to testing as 4WD cannot be adjusted.

GTE-Am

Ferrari 430 Scuderia - 470bhp / 1245kg's
BMW M3 '07 - 520bhp / 1316kg's
Corvette C6 Z06 - 470bhp / 1245kg's
Lotus Evora - 470bhp / 1245kg's
Ford GT - 445bhp / 1245kg's.

If a car in GTE-Am is dominating the class it will get moved up to GTE-Pro.

Each class will have its own individual winner and of course an overall race winner.

The plan is to do 25 laps of Circuit De La Sarthe through full day or night cycle. Class limits to be checked before and after the race and cheating will not be tolerated.

D-Max BTCC Championship (season 1) entrants get first refusal but please register your interest below.

Any questions and i'l be happy to answer.

I've always loved doing Le Mans races, and mutli-class racing was always fun. I'm in, but I wonder, will any supposedly new race cars from Spec II be entered in this? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'll be in for this single race, I probably can't commit to a season though.

I'm still being a little picky about what car I would drive, so I'll get back to that once one is chosen. I'll most likely be entering in GTE-Am.

Yea I can't commit to an entire season just yet hence the one race to start. And yes I wouldn't mind betting that we will get the Signatec Oreca Nissan LMP2 (Lucas Ordonez) in the DLC so nothing major will happen until thats out.

I'll have to switch to LMP2 if it's implemented. ;) But then again, that Evora is just begging me to grab it. :p

Also, since multi-class Le Mans never seems to work out as a series, maybe a monthly race? Rather then weekly, you know what I mean?

I'm in mate :)

Edit: am I counting wrong or are there 17 cars?

Yea it is 17 cars... just means there is more choice ;) and to be honest did a bit of testing with the DB9 last night and its painfully bad....

It'll probably get the boot eh? Oh well, wasn't aiming for that car. :p

Could be fun, 25laps non stop with a pad could be quite painful tho!!!!

I'm in, I'll prob be 1 of the lower class cars tho, not so good with the higher bhp rides :)

It'll probably get the boot eh? Oh well, wasn't aiming for that car. :p

It basically needs about 600bhp to be competitive with the 470bhp cars. Turn in is awfull, no matter what I do with the wheel alignment i cannot take turn one flat whereas in any other car I can. It needs adjustable front downforce!

Do you own all the cars mate? I can't afford to buy all of them but i want to try them out...
Could you put them up for sharing so I can drive them?

What ones do you want and I'l send / share. Remember you can't use shared cars online and the physics are different

I'm gonna be in LMP2 just need to pick a car ;)

How is a 458 going to compete with an RM Vette? I'd say the vette should be non-RM, unless spec2 gives us a RM 458? Just my take on it, not putting you down.

definitely in on this!

The 458 is very quick that's why. It massively out classes all the GTE-AM cars. When testing the other day the RM vette was quicker through corners than 458 but slower on straights.

How will something like that be balanced out?

I love the race idea, as I said in the room, running it on a Saturday morning (8/9 start) would be best for avaliability and our connection consistancy.

I'll likely run in LMP1, but if not, then LMP2.

James can you update the LMP2's hp if it's changed from alex's testing? Try to get all cars running the times you suggested if they don't already :)

Its only on Le Mans (Circuit De La Sarthe) at the moment and because of the long straights it makes it easy to manage. I'm sure on a small circuit like Tsukuba this would not be the case though so balance of performance will come into play at each circuit.

Also looks like we are not getting the Signatec Oreca LMP2 in DLC so the older prototypes still stand for LMP2

I'm up for it as long as there is heavy damage, and Ill take the pesca hybrid or 908 if thats not available...

Think the 908's are both gone now but the Pescarolo Hybrid is still available.

OP Updated. LMP2 has now got a 50bhp increase to keep competitive. Schultz Motorsport GT-R may be in subject to testing as I have unofficial inside info that the GT-R may be entered into the new World Endurance Championship (replacement for ILMC) for 2012.

We did some practice last night and it seems each class is where it should be, general consensus is that its gonna be fun and we will probably run it on a Sunday morning so that everyone can be there (hangover permitting)

Will test GT-R tonight and confirm / deny.

I call dibs on the GT-R. :sly:

The GT-R is in. 560BHP and standard weight. It's one hell of a good car too!

You cant adjust the drivetrain power to the wheels but its a good car! With DLC though perhaps the GTR R35 touring car would be a better fit?

Yea maybe so, time will tell on that one :)

Could I race a Corvette ZR1 RM if i wanted as long as it was 470 hp and 1250 kg?
If so then I'm good to go

I'm interested, I've not driven competitively in GT5 for a long time or in Gran Turismo generally and I really want to come back to it.
I'll take the Ferrari 458 in GTE Pro to start with. I might have a little test with the BMW LMR for LMP2 (though obviously its already taken, I might consider running LMP2 instead with another car) but I'm comfortable driving the 458.

I'm only available for this at weekends though, and I prefer Saturday evening but I would be able to try and do it Saturday morning instead as someone else has suggested.
