So I get off work at 7:30 and I take I-55 south to arsenel road. Well at about RT-6 I am crusing in the left lane at about 80mph in traffic when all of the sudden I hear this buzzing sound comming behind me. I look in my mirror and see a fast moving car catching up to me and something sticking out of the drivers window? Well the guy gets next to me and I see that it is the driver sticking out of the window but thats not the end of the story...It was a flat black civic hatch and both the driver and the passenger were wearing black full face helmets. PRobably one of the funniest things I have seen in awhile. I just laughed and got off at my exit.

Second one occured on my lunch break. I was en route to Wendy's, windows down and some Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young blaring when all of the sudden the guy next to me starts yelling that he has an entertainment center that he wants to get rid of for free. He tells me that he was delivering it to somewhere up north and they didnt want it and now I can have it for free. This was obviously a scam because it has happend to me before, but I dont see how anyone could make money this way? Anyone care to explain?

What the...

Entertainment system for FREE?

Wow, there must be a catch.

Yeh, the catch is you have to follow them down a back alley to an empty warehouse.

That happened to me once at the Hungry Jacks. I was sitting in my car minding my own business, and these 2 guys rock up in a white van asking me if I wanted to buy a 'Home Entertainment System' for only 20$. I declined their generous offer and they just drove off.

I was out cruising a few weeks ago and this guy in a (what I thought) was an EF Civic Si was driving along beside me with what looked like a gun.

I sorta freaked and he dropped back in traffic and then a little later on I found it was just a pop gun.

But he thought he was tough and even asked me to give him my car, such a nice guy.

You give them $20 and they'll give you a box with a brick in it. I've seen auctions like that in East London. They have a "bidder" who is in on the scam who wins the auction. The Auctioneer then gives him his electrical item all boxed and sealed. They then get members of the public to bid who go home with an empty box.

Don't confuse entertainment center with entertainment system. Entertainment center is a very useful piece of furniture. I've seen many given away or sold for a nominal price. They are very difficult (sometimes impossible) to move, so people often just try to get rid of them if they're moving. Selling from the driver's seat of one's car is a bit peculiar, though.

We call it a wall unit.

We call it a TV hold, and it sits next to our passage way to our car hold.

What you do in the "free" instances is tell them you'd feel more compelled to believe and trust them if they let you hold on to something, say...money, that they can have back after you get your free item. If they say no, then no loss, if they say yes and hand you something, take off with it. Its not like they can call the cops since all you have to do is rat out their scam.

Some guy wanted to trade me his "1400 dollar" projector for my brand new PSP. I promptly declined his offer thing in my head "Who's $1400 projector is it?, most liely not his!!"

and I walked out of the store...

I was driving back from a buddies house just last night when I pulled up to a red light. I'm just sitting minding my own business when out of the corner of my eye I see lots of movement in the car beside me. I look over and see a girl around my age changing shirts. It was cool. We both smiled at one another and went about our business. It was cool. :)

I've got five days left of dove hunting season here in SoCal, and so far the most memorable thing that happened was I saw a stink beetle hump a rock.

Why not the 22 white-wings I've downed, so far, I guess relates to my sick, childish sense of humor. Although, there was a that one dove that shot straight up in front of me like somebody just tossed it straight up in the air and then *ka-blammo!*

Now now, don't tell me you got the license plate number of her car! :sly:
