Thanks for everyone checking out the show!

I went through and skimmed a lot of the responses and I'm really glad that you guys thought the interview turned out well. And (thankfully) I wasn't ripped apart as bad as I thought :-D.

About the Photo Mode section of the interview, I've tooled around with it but I never got into it and wasn't sure about a forum thread concerning it since I'm forever enthralled with the WRS. I keep trying to make decent times but I've about given up since I don't have the time to dedicate to it. (As I'm sure Top-Bracketed racers just bang that time out in 5-10 mins :-D)

The show really is a work in progress and I'm trying to make the experience better overall for everyone. What I may do toward the end of the series, around Aug 25th, I'll donate just the interview to the GTPlanet downloads section in case any other people who may be new to the page want to hear the interview with Jordan without all the extras.

Thanks for the great turnout for downloading the show! I really do appreciate it.

Listened to the entire thing yesterday, very cool. Although I didn't learn anything from it really, except the history of GTPlanet before what it was today was pretty interesting. Good shtuff :)
 
Damn it, now I have to visit GTP when I get home. :lol: I am trying to manage my habit of being on the boards.

Nice one grayscaleDX! 👍 I really enjoyed the interview as well... very interesting to hear what Jordan had to say.... the question about whether an online aspect in GT5 will adversely affect GTPlanet.net was particularly astute... As a (resting) WRS racer myself, I feel that the overwhelming sentiment within the community seems to be that people do not prefer 'confrontational' competition, and seem to prefer the more 'cooperative' feeling of the WRS... i.e. the enjoyment of playing Gran Turismo is paramount... I reckon when online racing comes along, the WRS series will probably continue along much the same lines as now... although online racing will add to the game, I believe the more hardcore/serious players will only actually use it sparingly... another example is when I used to play at a friends house (before he went back to Australia in March :( )... we wouldn't race each other (well, we did sometimes), preferring to do endurances, licenses, drifiting or alternately playing one-player races against the AI... I think most people here will agree with Jordan on the AI issue, such that the AI will ultimately be the biggest single issue for GT to focus on in the future, and for the other titles aswell...

Anyway, well done, a fascinating listen! 👍

Well I am home, and I listened, and I liked!

I know Touring Mars, just touched on this, but I also agree with Jordan on the AI aspect of the game. I love the series, I love 4, but the AI does need help. In earlier versions, you could easily predict what the computer was going to do. In 4 as Jordan discusses, the AI uses, what end up yelling, a cheat method. Its just not racing. As developers do obtain the level where one game can not be identified againist another looks wise, game play is going to have to improve.

Feeling that, I also sense that its sites like this one that will be the true testers of that AI. People aren't just going to look at the typical gaming magizines for opinions on how they feel the AI is in the latest versions. Its going to be the die hard members in the GT5,6,7 forums that will let members like me and outside guests know if the AI is what they truely say it is. I don't see it that far off to say that sites like GTP could be and will be used in marketing to set themselves apart.

Anyways, enough of my rambling. Jordan, you got me to turn off the TV and stare at the Windows Media Player hypnotics and listen to your southern voice. Just like the past 4 years I've been here, I enjoyed every bit of it. 👍

I'm downloading right now, wondering how long it'd take on Verizon DSL. Some guys are commenting on the Southern accent like it's a bad thing. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, and I think it's very charming. 👍

Jordan, that was an awesome interview. I'd like to thank grayscale for arranging it. I think it was very interesting to learn the history of GTPlanet. I could only wish I knew of it earlier. Props to you Jordan and my upmost respect for you.

Great interview. I wish the interview focused more on gtplanet, instead of GT4, but it was still a very cool show. It was nice to hear Jordan's voice. :)
 
I look forward to listening to this. As for accents, some think I sound like Jeff Burton, others think I sound slightly British, and other think whatever. I have an odd accent.

Yeah, grayscaleDX must've said "O.K." and "interesting" for about 500 times in this interview. I guess that's what happens to you when you interview people every day, you start to pick up all these little habits... :)

Thats a great interview......always wanted to know what you sound like Jordan :)...there is a definate accent there ;)

This will hopefully help get the word of GTPlanet.net out there and give it some good publicity 👍
