Did you make an introductory thread before posting anywhere else?

Looking around, I see that more members are making introductory posts and/or threads, or more than I can remember. So, I ask you this: did you start your stay with an introductory thread before moving on, or did you jump into the heap right after registration?

My first ever post was in Mission 34 of GT4. I gave some redundant information on how to complete Mission 34, though I had never done it myself... I was quite the crud-poster then, but they were better than the ones I have now. I personally feel responsible for ruining the reputation system!

No, my first post was my first thread, but it was trying to help somone who was having problems joining the site.

If I can remeber correctly my first post was in a thread I made.

I did not, but I think it's good when people do (especially if they are smart enough to do it in the right place). People have lobbied for one giant Intro thread, but I prefer people to make their own introduction and therefore set their own tone in it.

I think its pointless making some thread sayin who you are...get straight to business and post in the tuner threads and make a name for yourself

No actually I just started posting, then like a newbie resurrected a few threads, the started a few threads with Hybrid info, & files I created to help the hybridding community. Hope they helped.

Nah, I rambled on about Escudo settings or somethings or another when I first joined. Man I was a tool back then. I probably still am, I guess I'll have to wait another five years and see what happens when I look back in hindsight. (damn I've been here five years)

No, I jumped straight into the 225 laps of SSR11 race thread. That was quite epic.

From what people say, most didnt make an intro thread. But ive noticed most members who do make an intro thread, just disappear within a few days. Maybe then people who dont make an intro thread tend to stay longer than people who do...? Just a theory, im just wondering thats all.

I know I didn't, but I can understand why people would.

There could be a good reason to make an intro thread for everyone to write something in. I see it on the Revision3 forums in most of the sub-sections, does a good job of laying out the land for the newbies and whatnot.

I'd think most registrations in general don't stay for long.

I can't remember to my first post. It was like three years ago.

I think it'd be more interesting to see the percentage of people who came here to talk explicitly about Gran Turismo at first.

It seems like everyone would, but I know personally that I (and many others) haven't touched a Gran Turismo forum in at least a few years. Wonder when the "shift" happens...

The only thing I noticed is re-registered banned members are easy to point out because of this. For example, PS's first posts were in the conversation forum.

Well my first post was about something which has to do with drifting or something. Like a dude name GT4drifter_7 (or something like that) ask how to drift an Impreza and a Falken Skyline. But i did introduce myself in the introduce yourself thread in the GT4 drift sub forum. How things has changed since then.....

I didn't.

Jumped straight into GT4 discussion. Made 2 posts the day after joining, with a combined total of over 4 grammatical errors and a few other other annoying things. Quite impressive for 3 sentences.

I certainly hope I've improved a bit:nervous:.

Haha, I first remember when I joined. I was scared lol that i would get banned in like 5 mins, so i tried to use full English and not make ANY mistakes (I was 11 years old) but my first thread got locked in a few mins

no, my very first post was in the tuner garages thread, then i worked my way into the GT4 settings, then the GT4 photomode, and one day i got bored and started looking in the other threads and now i post everywhere. it all really started when i did a wikipedia search on Gran Turismo 5 and saw GTPlanet at the bottom of the page as a reference.

If anything, I'm a bit suspicious when a "first post" appears in the Rumble Strip. Although that's kind of hypocritical of me, since I almost never post in the GT forums anymore.

It's funny how there's a few members in the various GT forums with intelligent conversations and/or interesting things to say, but they never (or almost never) enter the off-topic stuff. Once-flamed, twice shy, perhaps?

I don't make intro threads. I just jump in and post...if the forum is worthy of me, that is!
