I am wondering if any of you has played your iPOD through PS3. I have some great F1 videos that I would like to watch on larger screen. Thanks for your time.

Or if you don't want to pay for some overpriced proprietary Apple cables and whatnot you can use your normal USB cable to plug it into the PS3 and read it like an external hard drive.

It should show up under the Video, Photo, and Music categories on your XMB. As you said you had movies that you wanted to watch on it: Go under video and it will show something like USB Device iPod. Click Triangle and then choose Display All from the menu. This will alow you to sort through all the folders. Unfortunately, the iPod does not have any easily identifiable sorting methods. Usually everything is kept under iPod Control and then somewhere in there you should be able to find a folder labeled Videos or Movies. In that will likely be a number of folders containing the movie files in no discernible order. I know for music they are all labeled F01, F02, F03, etc.

Whether your video files will actually work will likely depend on if you made them yourself and what format they are in, or if you bought them from iTunes and they have security encryption only allowing your iPod to play them.

.

All the movies I've put on my iPod via iTunes can be found in one of those "Music" folders, but there are 50 of them, so it's a real pain finding them in a browser... you can also put video files straight into the "Video" folder on your iPod when using it as a straightforward USB device, making it alot easier to find, but then you cannot play the video on your iPod. :ouch:

The PS3 really should have better Ipod support if the Xbox can manage it then there's no excuses.
I didn't know the Xbox did. I will have to check it out. If the PS3 doesn't then it is as much on Apple as Sony, since Sony can't legally just add that to the PS3.

They are still under the Music folder? I only have a Nano, so I haven't bothered with video (why they bothered giving it video I have no clue). But yeah, those folders are in no form of proper order.

The itouch and the iphone won't allow you to access or store media. It's because of the firmware that apple made so people can't things so easily.

make sure your ipod has the "enable disk use" box checked in itunes. then create a folder called "Videos" and just drag-and-drop any video files you want to watch on the ps3 in there. Then when you access it on the ps3 you can just go to the Videos tab on the xmb to see and play them. If you don't put them in a "Videos" folder than you will have to hit triangle and hit display all, or whatever it is called.
I used this all the time to watch movies on the ps3 before I moved my computer right next to my tv.

I appreciate all input from you all. Apple does make it hard to intergrate hardware. I guess dem removal is now in order. Thanks guys.
