iPod with video

Apple just announce the iPod with video...320x240 resolution on a 2.5" screen. Looks like they're determined to keep a strangle-hold on the market. It will be interesting to see what iRiver and everyone else do to keep up...

How long before someone has a small projector accesory for the ipod...now that would be the "killer app" for this bit of hardware

Its ok, I know its trendy to hate things that are popular. Which is just as bad as being an iPod tosser.

iRiver ripped off everything about iPods from the start, even the silly "i" in the name! Besides, iRivers have a crap UI, and look crap to boot. iPods are more than just the hardware, they work very well with iTunes and the online music store. There is always a reason why certain products do well in the market. Slick industrial design only gets you so far, just look at the PSP - it looks very cool, but the DS is selling way more.

iRiver was formed in 2000, about 1-2 years before the first iPod. The GUI is improved by changing the themes, and I prefer the H300's look.And I don't like the iPod's total dependance on software, if Apple makes an iPod with the same features as an iAudio X5 or iRiver H300, and iRiver don't make a worthy sucessor to the H300, I'll be going Apple.
