I just tuned a Porsche Turbo for the 700pp Le Mans grind race using Grok AI and OMG it was great!! I then thought let me try to tune the AMG C63 for the Nurburgring. I went back to Grok and it gave me the suggested settings ( I did request Sport Softs rather than the Racing Hard for more fun) and again OMG, I proceeded to set a super fast lap time, the C63 griped and went like nothing before. The sound of that car and the ballistic mid range punch and super grip
made that one of the most enjoyable laps of the Nurburgring with a 6:57 lap time.

Overall, I'm super impressed and I like that I can go back and forth with the AI like it’s my own personal technical racing chief 😁. Anyone else doing this?

Does Grok show it's thinking? Wouldn't surprise me if it was just lifting tunes straight from GTP
It does show its thinking and it looks at data from everywhere (including GTP) then analyzes based on public feedback etc, then uses its own knowledge where applicable to give me a tune. Then I also look at it and tweak it to my personal preference and in some rare instances, correct Grok. I prefer fun over the last 0.1 second improvement.

ChatGPT citied GTPlanet in it's first response for me, then just offered YouTube videos.

What parameters did it change over the base tune?
It suggested which aero kits to fit, wide body if applicable etc... Let me just share what it wrote back to me so you can see for yourself: (note that I tweeked it to full power as I like a bit of slip and slide for fun versus outright lap times :-))

Optimized Tune for Mercedes-AMG C 63 S '15 in GT7 on Sport Soft Tires with Medium-RPM Turbo (Nürburgring Nordschleife Focus)

The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S '15 is a rear-wheel-drive sedan with a twin-turbo V8, offering strong performance but prone to understeer and oversteer due to its weight and torque, especially on the Nürburgring Nordschleife's challenging layout. Given your preference for Sport Soft tires and a Medium-RPM Turbo, this setup builds on your earlier 6:57 lap success (achieved with similar constraints) and refines it for the Nordschleife's 73 turns, elevations, and long straights like Döttinger Höhe, targeting a top speed of 330-340 km/h. Expect lap times around 6:50-7:00 with practice, optimizing grip and stability while leveraging the Medium-RPM Turbo's mid-range torque. PP is ~700; adjust the power restrictor if targeting a different PP cap.

Key Build Notes

  • Tires: Sport Soft (front/rear) – Balances street grip and wear; brake 10-20m earlier into turns and throttle progressively to avoid slides.
  • Power Output: ~600-650 HP (ECU at 97% with Medium-RPM Turbo for strong mid-range punch).
  • Weight: ~1,250-1,300 kg (full reductions + forward ballast for better turn-in).
  • Driving Aids: Off (TCS 0, ABS default). Trail brake for rotation; smooth inputs on bumpy sections like Pflanzgarten.
  • Track Tips for Nordschleife: The Medium-RPM Turbo excels in mid-speed exits (e.g., after Karussell); focus on early braking in downhill sections (e.g., Adenauer Forst). If understeering, add front toe out; for oversteer, increase rear damping.

Parts Upgrades (Tuning Shop)

  • Weight Reduction: Stage 1 (Club Sports), Stage 2 (Bore Up), Stage 3 (Full), Stage 4, Stage 5, Increase Body Rigidity (Racing).
  • Engine/Power: Medium-RPM Turbo, Fully Customizable Computer, Engine Balance Tuning, Polish Ports, Racing Intercooler, Racing Air Filter, Racing Silencer, Racing Exhaust Manifold.
  • Brakes: Racing Brake Kit, Racing Brake Pads, Brake Balance Controller.
  • Suspension: Fully Customizable Suspension.
  • Transmission: Fully Customizable Racing Transmission.
  • Drivetrain: Racing Clutch & Flywheel, Fully Customizable LSD.
  • Other: Power Restrictor (~97%), Ballast (80 kg at -35 for front bias).

Customization (GT Auto)

  • Body: Wide Body installed.
  • Aero Parts: Front (Type A), Side (Type A), Rear (Type B), Wing (Custom High Mount with Plate Type 21).
  • Wheels: BBS Racing Wheels – Front 19-inch, Rear 20-inch; Rim Width (Wide), Offset (Wide).
  • Other: Bonnet Pin, Tow Hook, Custom Light Bulb, Front Grill (Type A).

Tuning Settings (Car Settings Menu)

  • Tires: Sport Soft (Front/Rear).
  • Brakes: Brake Balance (-1 for slight rear bias).
  • Suspension(Softened for Sport Soft compliance; positive rake for grip):
    • Ride Height: Front 120 mm, Rear 140 mm.
    • Natural Frequency: Front 2.55 Hz, Rear 2.05 Hz.
    • Anti-Roll Bars: Front 7, Rear 9.
    • Damping Ratio (Compression): Front 18%, Rear 20%.
    • Damping Ratio (Expansion): Front 45%, Rear 50%.
    • Camber Angle: Front -3.0°, Rear -3.0°.
    • Toe Angle: Front +0.10° (out), Rear -0.15° (in).
  • Aerodynamics(Maxed for stability with reduced drag):
    • Front Downforce: 120.
    • Rear Downforce: 200 (lowered slightly for top speed gain).
  • LSD(Tuned for smooth power delivery):
    • Initial Torque: 5.
    • Acceleration Sensitivity: 10.
    • Braking Sensitivity: 40.

  • Transmission(Taller for top speed; set auto first, then manual adjust lowers for mid-range punch):
    • Auto Set Top Speed: 340 km/h.
    • Individual Gears:
      • 1st: 2.973
      • 2nd: 2.399
      • 3rd: 1.964
      • 4th: 1.679
      • 5th: 1.493
      • 6th: 1.277
      • 7th: 1.143
    • Final Drive: 2.700 (adjust to 2.650 if not reaching redline).

  • Ballast:
    • Weight: 80 kg.
    • Position: -35 (forward bias).
  • Rev Limit: 8,000 RPM.
This tune builds on your successful 6:57 lap, refining the setup with a Medium-RPM Turbo for optimal mid-range torque, as confirmed by your preference. It’s tailored for the Nordschleife's demands, enhancing top speed on straights while maintaining cornering stability on Sport Soft tires. If understeer occurs, raise front camber to -3.5°; for oversteer, increase initial torque to 7. Test sectors—aim for sub-6:55 laps with clean driving. Let me know if you need further adjustments!
