I've complained about GT5 before but is it really worth moaning about because it gives you 1000 cars to play around with does it really matter whether their standard or premium what is there else to really complain about :)

Reality starts to kick in after a while doesn't it, first it feels a bit left to bits.
But once you dig and sneak around you find it all so appealing and lovely, it works and it's unique! 👍

In 2010 playing without a cockpit view with FFb wheel, clutch and H-gate seems a little dissapointing - so the 800 non-premium cars are a big deal.

But is it worth complaining about? not really. PD do not seem to listen to the fanbase so its like farting in a thunderstorm.

Yes, because it either PD does nothing or they'll listen and fix it.

There is a definite difference between constructive feedback for the game, and complaining. Complaining does nothing, making suggestions for improvement does.

Well, if you define complaining like that then, I guess you're right. I see a lot of constructive criticism around the forum though. And a lot of times, people will just lable that complaining.

Though, if PD were to actually organize some way of communicating them that was reliable and accessible, I'm sure they would get even more constructive feedback.

The way I see it, constructive criticism is: "I think it would be really cool if in a later patch, they started converting some of the standard cars to premium."

Complaining is: "Ugh. Seriously, we waited 6 years and they only made 200 premium cars?! This game sucks. I'm returning it."

I agree with you that there's a lot of constructive feedback on this site too. And I think it's a great idea that people give their ideas for improvement. It's just that there is also a good number of people that choose to word it the second way. So, that's why I say it's not worth it to complain. :) Nothing at all against constructive feedback though.

Edit: PD should have something like a "suggestion box" site. Hopefully people would use it right. :P

Well, what's there to complain about? Let's see.

Out of those thousand cars (yeah, beautiful number, I know), 220 are up to date. The other 800 are just recycled, outdated stuff, restricted in quite a few ways. Oh, and they sound crappy. The A4 Touring Car my B-Spec driver is currently using to grind levels sounds like one of those little slot cars.

B-Spec mode and the incredible stupidity and inability of its driver.

The AI.

The experience system.

The lack of events in both A-Spec and B-Spec.

Lack of tuning options. Customising individual gear ratios and tyre pressure spring to mind.

Cluttered menues.

Mediocre (at best) HUD.

License tests are completely meaningless.

Events that require you to hunt for a specific used car, that appears every now and then and costs a fortune (and thereby stopping you from buying cars you like, unless you want to grind for even mroe credits).

Damage (both visual and mechanical) completely lacking in GT Life.

Features that were mentioned on the back of the box or in the manual (at least the US version's) are missing from the game.

Ahem, the way I see it, there is more than enough wrong with GT to complain about, no doubt.

I think they need to give us Credits and XP for online races and add a decent leaderboard system for tuned cars and I'll be content.

The game itself is great, love the cars and the tracks, love the feel and the online racing is a blast but we really need to be able to earn credits and xp online and we need a way to track and compare our lap times in the cars we have built.

One more thread that probably won't take us anywhere. One person says a good thing, then a complainer comes and throw the stones.

There's really a difference between criticism and moaning/complaining.

Actually i have seen a few constructive criticisms but mostly whining. If the word "fail", "stupid", "dumb" etc. are in a post, that is NOT a constructive criticism, that is whining. :)

Agreed if all of this is brought in soon i can see this game lasting me a very long time 👍

So just to clarify, is it worth complaining about quality considering we have so much quantity... is that correct?

QFT. If you see this as complaining (obviously avoiding that every one of these are in fact valid) then tough 🤬 is all I can tell you. There's a such thing as getting straight to the point, and this does just that.

It's criticism. Deal with it.

Don't like that majority of us "complain" don't read our posts then, go play WoW or something.

I agree, we should get EXP and Credits for online races. I'm at the point now where I've finished every race A-Spec AND B-Spec except for the endurance races. So, in order to "enjoy" all 1000+ cars in the game, it would be a complete grind. At least online races could be a fun way to earn $. I have to choose: Fun races for no credits/EXP or boring races to grind up to buy some of the cars I want to drive.

I love finding a random car in the used car lot, im playing with the arse end drive skyline lm road edition at the moment, looks the nuts with a wide arch kit and POWER!!!!

Ive a few complaints, but the plus's outweigh the minuses

Actually you will find the majority of that post is based on opinion so not every point is valid for this reason.

What, in that entire post, is opinion-based, no, as you put it....where's the majority?

Yeah, basically, 99% of posts are based on opinion. Going "this is complaining and this isn't" is completely based on opinion as well.

Or telling people to look past certain flaws because the game has [insert random feature here].

Well, it usually comes down to this. People only complain about something because they love/like it so much. So yes, it's worth nitpicking about.

If you didn't like GT5 in the beginning, you'd probably let all the downfalls slide and say meh, then move along and play something else.

agree, I got that horrible game MAG and was done with it after 3 months of trying to look past the garbage it was/is. I didn't bother posting on their board because the game was bad enough I won't pick it up again or buy a sequel. On the other hand I've been playing GT since day one in Dec 97 and want to see the game improved in patches or in GT6. If you want it changed then you have to speak up, not sit on your hands and say it's good enough. I didn't buy the CE for this and sure won't make the mistake of buying GT6 till i know it's much improved over GT5. Luminis post is pretty much spot on with whats wrong with the game.

I removed all the petty stuff from your lists of constructive criticisms :)
