Is having 50 50 weight balance even worth it?

Now that the update is up you can see rating of the weight distribution so i messed around with a few cars but i found that most of the time it just puts your pp down without much help to steering so is it worth it for regular racing or is it more for the trick cars and drifters???
 
Your pp goes down because you're adding weight which increases the weight/power ratio. You should use ballast settings when fine tuning a car. Especially those prone to over/understeer...example yellowbird.
 
i did it for the first time on the new rome tt with the premium clio added 17 kg to the front made the car very neutral. was pretty twitchy with oversteer before this I also dialed down the lsd which also helped :)
 
Ballast works really good for reducing oversteer. One of the best cars in my garage is the GT-R Concept '01, and it used to be a bit too tail-happy so what I did was to add 25-50 kg to the front of the car, now the balance is perfect and among the best I've ever driven. So I think ballast is something that you should consider when you have a good car, but problem with oversteer/understeer. Ballast can really help you there.

(Same with the Impreza challenge in the new seasonal, I think that car would benefit a lot from adding 200kg to the back. Although I haven't tried that yet.)
 
52 - 48 is acctually the ideal weight distribution for an FR. As you put the power down the car squats and some weight is shifted to the rear, giving it 50 -50 distribution. An FR with 50 -50 static distribution will become prone to push understeer. Just a tip i picked up on Best motoring.
 
I find that trying to reach a 50:50 weight distribution improves handling and tire usage. Unbalanced cars will usually end up with cold tires (therefore inefficiently used) on one of their axles, FF cars in particular. Of course, adding too much weight decreases overall performance.
 
Thanks for helping I guess my zonda is fine how it is lol it has 48 52 weight distribution but it turns like a charm so I'll keep in mind those tips my Cein has mad understeer so I might work with that a bit
 
I found it useful to bring the disty "closer" to "50/50" than stock setting, on the FIAT Seasonal Challenge Added a huge 100+KG all the way to the rear... don't know if it was "necessary" but it helped me win the challenge, whatever works I suppose.
