As i Understand it the AI is being developed to be more human, in that it will use advanced prediction to pre supposes possible opposition moves to prevent crashing into its opponents or into you, unlike the current system which is reactionary to current situations and therefore will bump into you before taking action.
The part regarding using best driver AI will not use your data,
I read an interview where it was explained that what Pd have done is to use the best driver laps of each circuit, of drivers in the developement team, and have been programming the AI to be able to come as near as possible as the best time achieved, in an identical car and set up.
Quite how this is being implemented im not sure if they are using a variety of track routed lap maps, with the AI having the ability to deviate according to the road conditions ahead (predictive Ai),
Or they are programming the AI to be completely independent, yet be able to match real world drivers for speed (this would indeed be a great leap forward in AI!)
Of course it will then be deemed necessary to slow down the AI so softcore gamers can win.
Then there is the rediculous catch up system that needs to be removed (but i doubt it will).
Lets just hope they have a Ultra Hard/ Realistic mode where we can compete against the Ai true level using the true stats of the car without catch up, or at least have a variable AI as was implemented into TOCA race driver, so you could set it at your speed all the way to 120%.
If this is the case all I would need would be the event generator for the ultimate Gt experience.
