Right folks, following on from the Spa evening we had, which I think was generally a moderate success, Totally Disorganised Racing would like to present an event that will take place over two weeks of racing, involving eight cars this time, with four races per meet, at Donnington (5th Feb) and Oulton Park (12th Feb).

Similar to last Monday, but different. Differing in that there will be ten minutes of practice, in order to allow slightly better familiarisation, and just four races per meet, in order to allow us to finish before the cars turn back into pumpkins. Additionally, there are minor changes to the range of vehicles involved.

So, to the schedule of Drivers and Vehicles:

@Hun200kmh .. 1/TC Mercedes. 2/RdC NSX. 3/GT4 XBow. 4/TC BMW. 5/(Oulton)GrA Ford. 6/RdC Aston. 7/GT4 Porsche 8/GrA Nissan.

Reaggee.. 1/ GrA Nissan 2/ TC Mercedes. 3/RdC NSX. 4/GT4 XBow. 5/(Oulton)TC BMW. 6/GrA Ford. 7/RdC Aston 8/GT4 Porsche.

@richroo ..1/GT4 Porsche. 2/GrA Nissan. 3/TC Mercedes. 4/RdC NSX. 5/(Oulton)GT4 XBow. 6/TC BMW. 7/GrA Ford. 8/RdC Aston.

@IfAndOr ..1/RdC Aston. 2/GT4 Porsche. 3/GrA Nissan. 4/TC Mercedes. 5/(Oulton)RdC NSX. 6/GT4 XBow. 7/TC BMW. 8/GrA Ford.

@half_sourly ..1/GrA Ford. 2/RdC Aston. 3/GT4 Porsche. 4/GrA Nissan. 5/(Oulton)TC Mercedes. 6/RdC NSX. 7/GT4 XBow. 8/TC BMW.

@Mr_D ..1/TC BMW. 2/GrA Ford. 3/RdC Aston. 4/GT4 Porsche. 5/(Oulton)GrA Nissan. 6/TC Mercedes. 7/RdC NSX. 8/GT4 XBow.

@beachboy6658 ..1/GT4 XBow. 2/TC BMW. 3/GrA Ford. 4/RdC Aston. 5/(Oulton)GT4 Porsche. 6/GrA Nissan. 7/TC Mercedes. 8/RdC NSX.

@xeronima ..1/RdC NSX. 2/GT4 XBow. 3/TC BMW. 4/GrA Ford. 5/(Oulton)RdC Aston. 6/GT4 Porsche. 7/GrA Nissan. 8/TC Mercedes.

Zo. 1/GrA Nissan. 2/GT4 Porsche. 3/RdC Aston. 4/GrA Ford. 5/TC BMW. 6/GT4 XBow. 7/RdC NSX. 8/TC Mercedes.

@Oldbass47 ..1/TC Mercedes. 2/GrA Nissan. 3/GT4 Porsche. 4/RdC Aston. 5/(Oulton)GrA Ford. 6/TC BMW. 7/GT4 XBow. 8/RdC NSX.

Tyre degradation and fuel use will be switched off, there will be no penalties and only mechanical damage (watch those down-changes). It will be late spring, with fine weather, so the tyres should warm nicely, without burning. Standing starts, and the lap numbers will aim to give us races of ten minutes, but might be adjusted to fit our overall timescale.

The Donnington circuit will be the National one, and Oulton will be the shortish version, but I don't know its name yet...

On the subject of the GrA Nissan, I can thoroughly recommend the use of the "stable" setup, especially at Donnington (I haven't tested it at Oulton).

I think it's the swirling arms of a spiral galaxy.

As usual I'll be there. Although maybe not the 2nd week, got to see about that.

He mentions National for Donnington Mario, and I think it'll be Fosters or Island for Oulton - he wasn't sure.

I can probably make next monday. After that it'll probably be more difficult as I usually have other commitments on monday evenings :)

What versions of Donnigton and Oulton Park will be used?
Paul's correct about Donnington Mario, it's National. And Oulton is Island.

Most unfortunate Mr D, I thoroughly enjoyed your company last Monday. Keep an eye on our group, we may have things you can join in future...

I think I can make both Mondays. Looks like utter chaos 😂
Excellent Xero, good to have you aboard again.

I don't think I'll be able to make it today, very sorry. In fact throughout February it will be difficult for me to join, but I'll do my best to attend the mondays I can. Have fun, one less punter in the field! 😉

Results from Round 1. The scoring system is that each player gets points equal to the seconds (rounded) they finish ahead of last place. This round revealed an issue with this system when last place is a lap or more behind. As discussed after the races, I have added the driver's best lap time to their total time as a proxy for their overall time for equivalent laps. For race 4 that meant adding their best time twice, as they completed only 6 of the 8 laps.

Oh wow I'm actually pretty high up. Didnt expect that. Could've taken top spot if I didnt spin out in the Aston. Twice..

UNDERSTATEMENT ALERT!!!

Thoroughly respectable performance Mr D.

I have to say, I am very pleased with the closeness of the competition, with WhatandWhy in fourth place having scored around 95% of the points captured by the chap with the mysterious name in first. Seems like it will go down to the last race on Monday, I hope.

Thanks, Zolon.

I agree. I had some very very close racing with Beachboy and Reagee. Really cool.

My very limited online racing experience in the past was vastly different from this I can tell you.

Good question Old. If I remember correctly, the old Ford Escort provided some belting racing quite recently, but we only used it for a couple of races. I'd be happy to get it out again for a few short sharp contests through the evening.

Slightly shorter than a midi endurance.

I'm sorry I haven't come up with anything particular. I've got a few ideas but I've not been on the racing rig much this week.

The Megane Trophy might be a good one to try out.

Since everyone seemed to like my Megane choice last week, could I suggest the BMW 1M Stanceworks for next Monday. You'll find it in the Road D category. It's another one that's fun to drive, quick but not too quick. Might make a good series machine.

It's not the normal 1M from road E - although that could maybe become an handicap car! Needs testing.

Sounds good to me. I was thinking of Silverstone GP, all night so that everyone can get right in the groove. No qualifying, just five lap races back to back. Come last in a race and you can swap your car for any other road D motor (If there are any which are quicker than the Stanceworks, if not, then the Road E M1?).

Get ready to get sweaty. Should be frantic.

I've got an idea fermenting for another series. Although it probably won't be for a couple of weeks - I'm trying to get a problem with my wheel sorted out.

So play amongst yourselves for awhile. 🙂

I know that I'm taking the Totally Disorganised Racing notion to extremes chaps, but just turn up tonight and there'll be some...

(And Paul will be along soon with a championship he's prepared.)

We could do a throwback event with the Ferrari F355 challenge on Dreamcast? And run the tracks from that game, Monza, Suzuka, Long Beach, Laguna Seca, Nurb GP :)

It's a very accessible and fun car to drive too.

Edit: Sugo is in the game too

+1 to the F355

I have indeed got a series to go. It's pretty much a rerun of the first series I ran myself, which seemed very popular at the time, (The RSRS) but tweaked just a little to bring it up to date. We'll have a pre season test race soon. Watch this space. Well not this space, it'll be on another thread, but you know what I mean. 😉
