is it me or do tires no longer require as much warming up to optimal temp?

You're correct, you don't even need to warm them up.

My tyres start light blue. They are normally showing white on atleast 2tyres by the 3rd or 4th corner. By the end of the lap I'm surprised if 2 are not orange.

But that's a fun lap on sports tyres, sliding around intentionally etc. So it would be different if driving more conservatively.

I would agree they are completely different to 5.
