Dear Friends,

I am a starter for GT. Because this is my first Playstation šŸ‘Ž

I am going to buy a wheel ( can be g25) but i dont have money to buy a cockpit. So i got a question for the ones who has experience about this:
How can i play without a cockpit? I play the game infront of my sofa in the living room. Where i can put the wheel on my knees ? :) How i make myself confortable?

I need help!!

If you are using a G25, you need something to attach it to. A cockpit or a desk is needed. You cannot use it on your lap.

Thanks daan. So can you suggest me a wheel which i can use without a cockpit or a desk? Plus what do you mean with desk?

I don't know. I would never use a lap attachment. As far as I'm concerned, you need something secure and solid to attach your wheel to.

Plus what do you mean with desk?
Desk

A sturdy desk that inst too thick to attach the clamp to. the old Logitech Driving Force or Driving Force Ex is a good lap wheel.. but playing w/ a wheel in your lap sucks compared to on a desk. I don't know if the Ex comes with the lap attachment. the driving force wheel works on the PC, so i assume the EX does as well...

If you are going to race with a wheel in your lap why not just use a gamepad?

If you really must have it in your lap get a non force feedback wheel with little resistance very cheap... It“s just pointless to use a wheel that way it gives you no more feel of actually driving a car then a gamepad does if you don“t mount it correctly.

I would really advice you to get a cockpit... the Renoseat is very cheap and I have many simracers that are very happy with it... If you live in the US the Obutto is very affordable as well. It“s heavier and thus higher shipping costs then the Renoseat.

I find it“s much more comfortable gaming from my cockpits (used playseats earlier) then from a sofa or similar better ergonomics can sit in it for hours :)

oqvist you are right. But i live in Turkey and the shipping cost will be too much for such a heavy cockpit. In Turkey i ve never seen somewhere which sells cockpit :) So can you recommend me some places for low price cockpits?

opelgt1969 thanks for the picture. If i cant buy a cockpit, i will go to a carpenter and ask him to create me something like you have but painted black and better view ( no offence :)

search for the renoseat then :). I am never sure if it“s renoseat or rinoseat or rhinoseat lol. It“s about 240 euros I believe all in all :)

in USA i got a great cockpit for 220 bucks.. a playseats evo chair...

but if u cant afford one... build your own.. or modify an older table or something.. there is a thread here with custom cockpits that should give you ideas on how too...

even something as simple as this can help you a lot
