to change it to a 8000rmp rev limit all you have to do is change the set up of your gear ratios, but since i dont know what car your runnning i cant answer that.

and sorry der alta, not all problems can be solved with a hybrid. but i can get you a car that has 96,339 horse powere that can take car of your rev problem.

gear ratios do not change your rev limit... Thats gotta be the funnies thing i've heard all day.

you change the gear ration higher so the engine has to work harder giving you higher revs.. but of course when your driving a 100,000 hp car you really dont car about rev limiters, im more of a 1/4 guy anyways

Engine RPM (or revs) is independent of vehicle speed, it is the rate at which the engine itself turns in revolutions per minute. The transmission affects how many times the wheels spin per revolution of the engine. You can not change how fast the engine can turn at its max, by changing the transmission.

If you have a personal comment for me, use a PM, I'm just trying to correct your incorrect information. You obviously don't have a firm grasp of how a cars engine and transmission interact. I just wanted to clear it up for the original poster. I believe if you don't know what you are talking about, you should probably keep quiet and learn from others. Now just to reiderate. You can not change the car's max RPM in the game. You can adjust the transmission to make better use of the current RPM range, but thats it.

fully engine balancing resets the rev limiter and sports computer will also play with it, but in the end, there is really nothing you can do to make any real change in the rev limits.

Good luck with this, but if I was you, I would just drop the 5,000 rpm sucker and get a nice little 8,000 rpm'er like the s2000 or something.
