When i bought GT5p i was told that when the full version was released, those who purchased prologue, could download the rest of the game for whatever the price difference is.........(approx $20). Anyone else heard this?

its not true. the amount of space it would take to download the rest of the game you fill up the 40GB HDD and still need more space. you will be able to transfer over your save data to the full game but you would not be able to download the full game

i dont like the idea of being able to transfer over save data from prologue. while you should be able to get some kind of bonus from owning/playing prologue, you shouldnt get to import your entire 71 car roster plus the 5mil you horded from racing online. maybe a monitary bonus such as $100,000 would be acceptable, but when the full game comes out it should be a new experience.

I doubt theyll be letting you import the F1 car anyway. I reckon it will be just like GT4 Prologue which just gave you the bonus money and perhaps the first couple of licences unlocked.

I love the idea of transferring the save game of GT5p to GT5.

Have I mentioned that I hate the events and missons? :sly:

:)

I like the idea of transferring my save from GT5P as I like to collect my cars, even though I do think that transferring the 71 cars and 2m is a bit excesive as it would give you too much of a head start in the game.

I did read that it might be that people who bought GT5:P will be able to buy GT5 at a discounted price in what was described as basically a mass SCE sanctioned trade in. Just a rumour though.

I think that would be fair.

Frankly, who cares if you can import the game save into GT5. It gives people "too much" of a headstart? WTF? I don't get that comment. Who cares if someone is farther along in the game than you. Besides, you won't be racing against those people until you've earned all the licenses and bought the cars that are needed to compete at that level. By the time you race them, you'll be in similar cars. Who cares.

There are some other sides of the game besides online, and I don't care about other people getting a head start over me as I'm pretty sure I could benefit from that as people post tips for some event or whatever. What I meant is that in the early stages of the game when you really struggle to get some money you have to work to get a decent car and make an informed buy, but if you already have 50+ cars and 2m to spare it kinda takes the edge of those early stages, wich if you already have a tuned Viper, racing in a Capuccino is somewhat not as fun.

I really don't think that the first few stages will be a problem for a person who has completed S-class in Prologue, tuned several cars and raced online a lot. So I really couldn't care less if my cars and money are transferred or not. The headstart you get is negligable if you're a decent player.

I seriously hope they carry credits and cars across from prologue to full-blown GT5 and I wouldn't have said that before I discovered the joys of online racing. However, now the game for me aint about unlocking stuff and progressing, it's about getting online and duking it out. By the time the full blown version gets released most of us will have been playing it, in it's stripped down form, for a year - surely that's worth something?

All I want to do when I get the full game is unlock the licenses and then head out on the track in something fast!

I would like to see the credits and garage carried over plus, if GT5 has any identical events to GT5P then the completed results get carried over, eg if A-3 reappears then I do not need to re-gold it.

I see it as an added value to the game, some time before I bought GT5P I read the news about having cars and credits transferred I saw it as a big pro, I was gonna buy the game even if it weren't carried over, and this option really makes playing GT5P even more rewarding.

Just some credit's would be perfect,i didn't like it when you could get some licenses by using an old game,i would rather have bronze than those stupid green medals that say you have that license.Mission's-bring them on

Agree with you there - the GT license tests are brilliant in my opinion. From the braking zones to the full laps and all points in between. Stuff that actually does make you a better driver, as opposed to the prologue tests where smashing your way through 15 other cars in a way which avoids the penalty system seems to be order of the day.

Oh yes, definitely! Seeing as we have to relearn new physics(especially going from one system to the next) in these games the licenses make it so much easier to control throttle and brakes when you finally do get in a faster car. How many times I have gotten a fast car and gone around a track(lets say high speed ring) and kept slamming into walls but in the previous game I would nail a race line so perfect you'd swear I was born in that car on that track.

I like the gradual climb and having to struggle at first. Its just like in real life. You have a budget; you shop wisely and keep racing in low level races until you can upgrade. I never imported my old saves from the previous games. Wouldn't it be smarter to have to do the licenses over and have a refresher course so to speak?

I'm interested, who told you that you can download the full game for $20?

Don't misconstrue fact for opinion or wishful thinking.
