Is it worth to pass between 3 or 6 months without buying the game?

I really want to play the game, but i don't want to be stupid to buy it right now and have serious problems with it.

Is it worth waiting to PD fixing, patching, tweaking and adding content to the game?

I wouldn't say "worth it" so much as "not a bad idea", if that makes sense. Of course you have a better chance of getting it cheaper and you'll get all of the patches we'll have over that time, but you'll be losing out the time you could've used playing the game and progressing.

I'd say analyse your own situation, briefly weigh up the pros and cons since you can decide for yourself better than we can for you.

Is it worth waiting? Well, it's not worth it to get the game at this moment in my opinion so yes, waiting sounds like a good idea.

Yes, the game is basically GT5.5/GT5 Spec 3. Just wait a while as I'm sure many will trade-in their copies or sell them on eBay for near half price.

Only you can answer that question really, as you'll have almost as many opinions as you have replies...examples like this from those who don't appear to understand what constitutes the difference between a game version, and a new game release...

A few might, yes but I don't think as many will be selling as you think - but that's just my feeling.

Depends on why you are waiting. The game itself runs fine right out of the box even without the day one update installed, with the update you get access to the online mode after getting your National A license. Right now bugs are being found and exploits are surfacing, you can wait until the dust settles. There are some economy issues that PD are sorting out whilst readying the major December update and then the community update dated for January. Question is do you want to have to DL what may be 5 GB worth of updates in one go or plunge right now and get them while they are small and bite sized?
It's a game and not a console so it'll be rare if it doesn't work out of the case. Choice is yours though, it all depends on your reason for holding off. Waiting for updates to add to the game might work against a late comer as I said updates will only be larger later on down the line.

In all seriousness, why would you want to let other people decide for you , only you will know if you will enjoy the game or not, sure there are some bugs, but tell me, what new game that comes out is bug free these days, I am sure by now, you might be able to find the game used

The only reason to HAVE it right now, is to WANT it right now.

Do you want to have it?

If you are not really bitten by the bug of 'Firstism', (or wanting to have it) then waiting won't hurt you; in fact a bit of patience and you may even enjoy the game more right from the start because many bugs (usually the case when a game is first released) would have been cleared and you may lose your virginity in a much less painless way.

I want to play it... and my preorder from Gamestop arrived yesterday... and my wife already wrapped it and put it under the tree. Somehow, I'm OK with giving PD another week and a half to fix more stuff.

This is one of my main reasons for getting it early, seeing how GT5 went as well as the announcements of updates for GT6, we'll be seeing some pretty hefty updates - 3-6 months time, who knows how many we'd have by then. I'd rather take them in small doses rather than waiting a day for downloading them!

Always get onboard first with any title you like. Dig in there find the bugs of a game and exploit them to your advantage.

You think the guy who thought up Chess, said I'm sorry I forgot to tell you, this bishop dude could move diagonally? Checkmate bitches.

I suggest you buy it now, because the journey with each update is the exciting part of playing GT since GT5, and Kaz already promised many big updates coming in this month and next year. You will also feel like being part of the game itself :)

If you buy it now, you get to play now and play later. If you buy later, you only get to play later. So, the question really is: Is it worth to pay about $20 extra for the "play now and play later" or save ~$20 for and give up "play now"?

For me, the decision was very clear. I gladly paid the extra $20 to enjoy the "play now". Since this is the only game I play, it was a no brainer too. So, far, despite all the flaws, I'm having a blast. Car handling is a real joy.

PS: I'm assuming the price drop in 3 months will be about $20. That's a very optimistic guess.
PPS: There are many flaws that infuriate me to no end as well.

Yes just wait. GT6 will get better and better with each patch like GT5 did. Plus after a couple months you will find it for $30.00.

+1

For all of those telling him to wait, if you own GT6 right now, just sell him your copy cheap and move along.

If you wait, all of us will have six months of experience with the new driving physics and you will lose a lot of online races while you're trying to catch up with the hours of seat time that all of us Day oners will have. If you love racing games, have a true passion for it, buy it today.

A most valid point.

Will you be going Online to play?

When I played GT5, I played strictly Offline, wanting to not only test out GT5 as an Offline game, but also wanting to find out if the game was playable 'as is'. It was. I had also assumed that there would eventually be an 'Update Disc' (there was : XL) and I wanted to refresh the game completely before I moved on.

When I reached levels 35+ on both A-Spec and B-Spec and the game had reached Version 2.14, I threw in XL and discovered that the game had improved tremendously; it was a shock to realise the difference. It was also a pleasant experience to have an almost 'new' game, yet with all the cars and other stuff that one needed to acquire already in place. The update via XL took me less than hour . This is all detailed in another thread (one that I have shamefully neglected, but I hope to detail the experience there soon.)

Because I never played Online this didn't hurt me - though I missed all the Online fun, as Keith pointed out, and the experiences that went with it.
Also - any tunes, etc, that I could have used from updated players were of no use to me, since the updated game was different because of the continually upgraded physics, etc.

But how 'Online' is GT6? Very.
Because I felt this even before GT6 was released, I preordered the game. I was the first in the shop to pick it up - and I had made time that day to run back home immediately and start playing. This way I had also taken advantage of the price point and the bonus cars given to 'early birds' right away. And I'm already taking advantage of the Online pleasures from 'laser duels', and the other tidbits served up almost daily.

Online or Offline? That would be a factor in your decision, too.
And as I mentioned - GT6 seems to be very much an Online game.

To be perfectly honest I think you know the answer to that question already, you know the answer is buy now. What difference does saving a few quid make when you miss out on a superb racing experience from day one. I got it the day it came out and I saw the microtransactions(funny enough I didn't even know they were in the game when I got it) and I got a bit uneasy because I thought it would affect the game balance but it seriously does not. So far we've gotten a Merc Gran Turismo concept that is worth 1 million and a really nice BMW M4 Coupe which is in the hundred thousand range. Plus the last seasonal event payed out a lot. Also the sheer amount of tracks is mind blowing, I really love Matterhorn, best new track.

I can tell you my experience with GT 5 I waited a long time to get the game and finally I bought the XL ver and I missed the chance to get the free Camaro SS '10 "Edge Special" from the can of Edge shave gel and I did see the cans in stores say gt 5 on the can but then I thought I'll buy it soon and soon never happened, once I bought my XL ver it was to late to get that amazing Camaro SS '10 "Edge Special" here's a pic
Ahrweiler%20Gate.jpg

In this pic those low profile white letter tires, custom racing exhaust ,custom body kit and the custom livery are only available for the edge special the regular Camaro SS '10 doesn't have those additions :banghead: If I was you waiting might be a bad idea the anniversary edition has 25 extra cars for free with custom liveries it's your decision I'm just showing you what I missed out on I'm a huge Camaro fan and that Camaro looks so close to the indy 500 pace car but in purple

Those stripes are awesome:drool:
