Is my wheel dying? Please help

I was doing some drifting a few minutes ago, and at some point I noticed a change in my df pros force feedback. It is still stiff when turning, but there is no collision rumbling. i.e when I hit a wall or car it doesn't bounce back & forth or react at all.

Does this mean the motor in my wheel is starting to go kaput?

I unplugged it & plugged it back in, then reset my ps3, still no change.

Also, anyone know if it is safe to crack the thing open & clean any dust out of it?

Yeah it calibrates & both green led's light up, although it spins somewhat slowly.

I was also noticing a serious drop in force feedback strength on my DFGT yesterday. It still gave the right rumbles and everything but it was as if the FFB strength was turned way down. I ended up resorting to changing the strength setting from 6 to 10. I am also wondering if the motor in my wheel is going downhill. Any remedies?

I have the same with my G27. in the beginning my G27 was wrecking my hands and arms. but these days i don't feel a thing. i thought i had the same problem. until a friend of mine tried it. and was crashing his arms like i did back in the day. so maybe you are getting used to it. and are getting better prepared when you wreck your car.

The change I felt was pretty sudden. There is literally zero reaction when I ram the ai.

I would say it's shot then. Set FFB to 10 and take it to Sarthe. If it does not vibrate like crazy down the back straight then it's broken.

i dont use my g25 for drifting as i dont want to destroy 150 quids wotrh of tech with out a warranty or a backup wheel

Thanks god mine isn't doing this quite yet but I would suggest using the DS3 for drifting because as you may know drifting puts quite a bit of ware on the wheel.

LOL - I don't use my DFGT for drifting cos I can't drift for squat unless I use a controller.

I feel like PD has reduced the FFB since launch in the patches. I remember when I first got my wheel (before the first update) it was very strong, and now it seems to be somewhat weak. Perhaps I'm just used to it.
