Is the Gillet Vertigo Race car any good?

When i do like the wind its always way behind.
I still bought if for 1.9k and tuned it up to 957hp.
It went only 176 in Circuit De La Sarthe No Chicanes.

It's hellishly fast. In a straight line.

Turning... Not so much.

But I still love it. Before the update I had mine turning fairly well. After the update it's back to the drawing board.

If it's only hitting 176 mph (?) with 957 hp, your gearing is borked. The car is fantastic with a killer power-to-weight ratio.

You should definitely change your gears.

As said above, the Vertigo is crazy stupid fast on a straight. Love it 👍

Gillet Vertigo and Lister Storm are same in GT series...

Their spec NOT Up to date. :indiff:

They could be Lighter and More Power in modern spec...

Its not particularly fast.. got it in GT4, had disappoint. never got it in GT5..

It is bloody fast and will outrun LMP's, get a good tune it will corner, ive taken it round the nordshliefe under 6 minuntes.

It can't compare with Le Mans race cars. It's always last in Like the Wind.

You obviously are just quoting what youve seen and never actually driven it. its spped in the A-spec race is vastly limited due to the standard gearbox max speed is set to low, Like I stated earlier fully tune and find a good setup its wicked.
ps I won Like the wind with this way back in january. Also take a fully tuned one on the mulssane and see how fast it really is, Ive drafted well over 250pmh.

I remember it in GT4. Driving it was like trying to guide a piece of balsa wood in a tornado.

My favorite car in GT history! :D Tuned correctly it can be a beast.

yes, I didn't remember it from previous games so I bought it ages ago as it seemed a lot power for the money. I tried it stock in the Supercar seasonal and found I trounced everything until I didn't quite make the next corner. Didn't do anything else with it, and it's not been out of my garage since.

Now I've been reminded of it, I'll try Praiano's tune.👍

It's one of several cars I've used in Like the Wind. It wins in a walk once you get it turning. I haven't made the effort to adjust it for Spec 2 but I'll get to it. I'm one of the stubborn ones that always tunes myself rather than using other's tunes.

Click on my racing garage in my sig right now and use my tune. It will smoke like the wind. The car is always way behind in all races but it is so light with so much power which made no sense. I had to make the car awesome like it should have been in the first place.

It was alright in GT3, never got it in GT4 but it's not that brilliant in GT5. Not realy worth it if you ask me, you're better off spending that money on something better in the OCD and UCD.

will do 220 mph down the straight at nurb... surprisingly fun car considering how badly it sucked before gt5...

I can't see how the lister storm is at all the same car...

I hope this will clear the matter up, 2 photos of winning like the wind in a Gillot. As you can see it was against the top group C le-mans.
sorry about the quality.

I never liked it.
I don't think I've got one right now....but since Mark is making such a big fuss over it I'll probably have to get one and see if I can make it so that I like it. :)

...except I'm 5:30 into the 24 hrs of LeMans...and at an hour or so a day it's gonna be a while.

I had the red Vertigo in GT3. It wasn´t particularly powerful, since I remember it didn´t went above 400hp, but it was super lightweight. It required careful handling, but it was fun, and could beat much more powerful cars in short tracks.

Tested the car once in GT4, many years ago, but it wasn´t that good so I got rid of it after one race. Never driven that car since.

You really should try the one in GT5. It is the GT4 one, but it actually has handling capability rather than just sliding around all over the place.

As the others have said, its actually a very fast car once you raise the top speed, in a matter of fact id say its the fastest race car based on a street model in the game once you do it.

Granted, low end speed, turning and endurance arent its strong points, but that acceleration is too good to pass up.

Saw this thread somewhere, just now remembered it and decided to hunt it down.
