Howdy, I want to get the PS3 GT5 console bundle (UK version) when it's released. But does anyone know if you get the disk with it or is it preinstalled on the HDD? It's just that with it being only a 40GB HDD i'd prefer to have the disk version.

Thanks in advance.

No idea I would imagine it will be the disk though, you can upgrade your HDD at a later date with prety standard PC HDD (do a search on which types and how to do it. It is quite easy and cheap) at a later date or stick a standard usb HDD if your worried about space, I have a 60 gig one and even after 6 months of downloaded games, dozens of videos, hundreds pictures and loads of music I still have well over 30gig left!

Keep in mind that even if it was bundled with the disc version, you'll have to fully install those 5GB+ worth of game onto the hard drive. It's not optional, it's mandatory.

I dont think its installed already because this would cause work / time for the manufacturers.

Im want that bundle too (im in germany) and hope its in stores on wednesday 26th.

I must say that i have a little fear (because of the 1 million preorders of the disc) that maybe very many people who havent a PS3 already also want to get the bundle so the dealers could run of stock..

True, but you dont have to keep all the GT TV vids on your HDD if you dont want to, they can be deleted once you've watched them.

Swap the HDD out, any 2.5" SATA drive will fit (5,400 rpm is recomended) and its easy to do. I swapped mine to a 160gig and it was the best thing I have done for the PS3, no more worries about space at all (but I do have a 250gig external HDD as well, just to make sure).

Thats right Fruitcake (top signiture) But even 40gig is fine if your going to have an external for movies, pics and music. Or just media share and use the drives on your PC/Mac for all the non game stuff. Seriously it's a huge drive, I had about 12 gig to play with on my 360 for a year for demos, movies and pics, I just kept the really big stuff on the PC and the vast majority of music on my iPod and just streamed it in, with the PS3 it's even easier to do this.
