i had mine since Christmas 2010 and worked great until now but if you're looking to get serious in racing series or leagues I'd recommend getting the G27 or the new thrust-master wheel (can't remember the name)

but in reality it's about preferences.

It's the perfect casualist wheel. Anything else will cost you well over $250, while the driving Force GT is only a fraction of that.

It most certainly is. The pedals are the weak link. Overall though it's a decent bit of kit.

Also, the pedals can be made considerably better with just a little bit of fiddling, so don't let that scare you away.

It's all I've used since the game came out and I'm very happy with it, especially considering I paid $99 for it brand new. I have modified my pedals with some bungee cords for better feel, and recently I took up driving without ABS, my last crutch, and stuffed part of a fairly firm sponge rubber ball behind the brake pedal and it's working like a charm. Begins to compress instantly when you use the brakes and requires a decent amount of force to get to 100% brake power.

I believe the last update virtually eliminated the dead zone in the wheel so it's more responsive now than ever. Can't be it for the price:idea:

The driving force GT is an amazing casualist wheel, after using the DS3 since the game came out, i decided I wanted to get into the game a little more and get a wheel. I bought the driving force GT about a month and a half ago, and I have been nothing but impressed with its performance.

My wife uses the DFGT and really likes it. I've tried it a couple of times and it works well.

For GT5 it offers great compatibility and several options not available on my G27.

I have it and it's a great wheel for the money and has the best GT5 features like the "on the fly" controls in game and the actual horn on the wheel. The feedback is really great. Not over the top but strong, subtle and realistic. It will serve you well as long as you aren't a neanderthal on your controllers. If you like beating up on your wheels, you may want to spend the extra 500 dollars but this wheel is a steal for what it is at 130 dollars. Add the fact that it has full PC compatibility with drivers that offer full control over the wheel and it's a must have.

I'll echo what everybody else has said. For the price its a great wheel and makes the game a whole new experience over the Dualshock :) You really wont regret picking one up.

One thing that's really nice about it is the D-pad and buttons on the wheel itself. I kinda miss that on the G27. It also has a PS button which the G27 lacks, but this is not a big deal because it won't turn the console on. So you still need a controller for that. I prefer the Bluetooth remote, as it doesn't "fall asleep" like the controller and is great for B-spec if you switch it to controller 1.

I would consider the G27 though, as the pedals are much better and can be made even nicer with mods. You also get the H-gate shifter. It's kind of pricey, but it can go down to the $210-215 range on occasion. It was $215 just a week ago, and I jumped on it. However, that's in the US, and I don't know what it costs in the Philippines.

like everybody said, it's a really great wheel for its price, you wont get a better deal, i'd say that if it weren't for the pedals it's almost at g27 level on the feeling.

i bought mine some months ago and it really change the game experience, so if you got the chance, get it, you'll not regret

yea the pedels arnt the greatest but I think it works fine. For me it sure beats payin $250 for a wheel when I can just go out jump in my derby car and race around in a field for a bit lol

Look at youtube videos of dfgt calibration then at T500rs calibration. The slow speed at which the dfgt can go back to centre is it's downfall. You notice it when you let the wheel slide between your hands to straighten out after a corner, sometimes you'll spin out just because the dfgt couldn't centre itself fast enough, so sometimes you have to actually help pull the wheel back to centre which takes away from the physics.

This is the only reason why I would want to upgrade to a better wheel (other than the obvious having a clutch and H shifter)

here's a good example, look at how quick the t500rs is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRIsYEd-o0w

This has a direct impact on the car's physics.

I love my Logitech Driving Force GT, I think for its price, it is a very realistic wheel. It can easily compete with the $300+ wheels.

The only downside is that it isn't wireless, so you have an outlet wire, a wire that connects to the PS3, and another wire that connects the pedals to the wheel. But you will get over that eventually, at least I did. :)

The DFGT has been discussed at length in the Hardware section and there's no reason to reinvent the wheel. :p
