Proof of concept x2:
We had the day before the Fanatec GT3 RS arrived, 2 MoMo's hooked up!
Depicted above is when one of the MoMo's (mine) was replaced. Unfortunately the Fanatec isn't mine, but if you have $300 laying around its worth the buy with the clubsport aluminum force-feedback pedals. FFB on brake pedal is crazy is just one of many!
Anyhow getting off subject....
You need to go into Wheel settings (far left option) and crank up the Force feedback to 10 to feel close to the force feedback you get in GTR2 or related. Even then it might even seem a little weak, but alot better.
Also set it to Professional, and turn off Speed assist if you can keep your straights stable.
From what I found I can only assign the top 4 I believe from the GT Force (blue handled wheel) layout. Bottom 2 I'm trying to figure out their key mappings if any under other profiles.
Everything else works straight if you map your assignments properly in GT Force setup.
Please Take note all MoMo Users where the auto calibration kicks in on boot of PS3
BIG BIG pointer though regarding the MoMo....DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT leave it plugged in when starting up play station, something with the start up of the wheel (auto calibration) some how messes with (what I'm guessing a power fluxuation with) the SATA controller on the PS3.
Everytime I start up with the MOMO hooked up my HardDrive isn't being detected. It caused my last one which has been fine until this game and I started using the MoMO religiously. Before I would only hook up wheel after PS3 was started and in GT5

.
My Harddrive crashed at level 13 (go figure) since I kept firing up the PS3 with the MoMo attached.
So in effect:
Since I had to buy a new HDD I decided to experiment and use a Corsair Force Pro Series Solid State 80GB. What I'm seeing with that is speeds that are noticeable for installed content already. In certain realms in comparison you cut around 2-5 seconds in most loading type menus. Sometimes in the middle of loading a track (offline) the progress bar shows halfway to 3/4; and it will be done.
If you do decide to do this and if your HDD does crash, a
Tip:
- you need to make sure it has an "auto-trashing" feature similar to TRIM in Windows 7 for SSD's). The only ones I'm aware have this feature are the Corsair Force Pro Series and OCZ Vertex. There's probably others out there, but I can a test its working in mine for more then a week now. But be sure to backup data just in case!
- Another pointer in Formatting, be sure to only do quick format as the operation for a full format will fail due to it being a flash drive literally. I performed the whole job twice and it kept failing. So take my wasted 20 hours (2x 8hrs 50min + various hours troubleshooting, cursing, regretting, etc, etc), when it worked the first time doing a quick format for the hell of it, and loading game once already. In taking a buddy's advice that "No, No, you need to fully format it to make sure it does it right". Usually I'm in favor of that since I work in IT now for 8+ years, but there's also don't fix unless broken adage that I like to weight in favor when outside of work
