Is the minolta the fastest non formula car?

As title relly. I have the minolta and it seems capable of winning ANY race I enter it in, Having not driven anything faster personally, im wondering if there is anything out there that is faster? I assume the FGT,Ferrari F1s, and X2010 are faster, but which other cars are faster?

(not talking about top speeds, talking about lap times of a PROPER track (suzuka, nurburgring GP,etc)
 
F1s put aside, the only car faster than a group C car is another group C car.

Maybe Sauber C9, Nissan R89, Jag XJR9... It's a matter of personal preference.
 
Isn't it funny how the Minolta Toyota and the Toyota GT-ONE are 2 of the fastest non-formula cars in the game and yet Toyota never won at Le Mans with them?

That is not true! I had a drag race at La Sarthe, with a Jaguar XJR9 (I was in a max tuned premium GT40), and I left it for dead - my GT40 was doing 246mph. I'm also sure that the Veyron, and a max tuned ZR1 RM would also challenge your statement! 👍
 
The Sauber C9 is on a different league, accelerates a tiny bit faster than the Minolta and handles equally well.
 
Tuned, the Pescaralo Judd and the Bentley Speed 8 are faster than the Minolta (also tuned) at the Top Gear test track for me.

not really, the Minolta is WAY faster.
Same thing with with R89 and R92 being much faster than the newer R390.

learn to read. OP is talking about lap times, not top speed.
Who cares about top speeds?

I got a 45sec on Tzukuba with both Bentley Speed 8 and 908 Peugeot.
Try to beat that with a Minolta and you know which car is faster.

All group C cars are pretty closely matched. They will vary a little from PS3 to PS3 and it's a matter of preference. I like the GT-ONE myself, as it seems to have a bit more top speed.

Concerning what the AI drives, who knows. GT5 adjusts the HP of the AI cars compared to "our" cars, so you can't really compare them.
 
If you mean in a straight line, the Veyron is faster. I've raced people in MINOLTAs with my C9 and I was faster than them too. And of course theres the X2010...
 
I got alot of group c and le'mans cars.
The fastest by far is the GT-ONE. Tops out at 410 without a draft with full down force and is just as good around corners.
Then its the R89C as it just works well for me. I love the massive 3rd gear.
 
Yeah, the C9 has stronger acceleration. I've done 209 mph on the Rome street circuit in mine.

It's going to take leaderboards for the final decision, if they ever patch them. It will probably be like the Forza leaderboards where every track is different with different fastest cars, for the most part. The Porsche 550 and #16 RS Spyder (in Forza) are the two most dominate cars but they still get beat on some tracks, and it's close in others.

Yeah, it's fast, but I don't know if it's the fastest non-F1 or X2010 car. I haven't tried the Toyota GT-ONE yet, or the Sauber C9, so I can only compare it to the Minolta. I need to test the top speed of the C60 Hybride when I get the chance.

No car would ever beat a class C race car around any race track. Not a Veyron, nor a GT40 or a ZR-1, or any other car. I wouldn't even try it. They might have a higher top-speed, dependent on gear ratio, but they will be monstered on any track that has some corners.

OP - Toyota GT-One is the fastest non F1/X1/FGT car in-game. imo etc
 
Another vote for the Peugeot 908 TDI FAP with the high rpm turbo added. Ive used the other cars mentioned with there mods and it seems the Peugeot is a little faster around most tracks that are not ovals. Seems my Bobs love the Peugeot better than GT1 or the Minolta as well. I cant consistently win 24 Hours Le Mans with them with the GT1, Speed 8 or the Minolta. With the Peugeot its point and shoot guaranteed win.
 
I saw a thread where someone did extensive testing and the Toyota GT-ONE was the best car then the Minolta was next. I've been looking for this thread since last night on my phone, and havent had any luck finding it. It was posted like 3-4 days ago. If I find it, I'll post the link, unless someone else can end my misery.

The year the Benz went flying the GT-Ones had a very realistic shot. They were really quick, but plagued by tire punctures. The last one was only beaten in the last hour due to another blowout. Still remember sitting in front of the TV that year, really heartstopping moment, he (Ex-F1 guy, Katayama I think) went very sideways somewhere well north of 200 mph. :eek:
 
1st for me is peugeot 905 is 750 kg and over 900hp and handles very well (did a 58 secs flat in a race at rome). My 2nd place would be the c9, better power to weight but just a little twitchier handling it is harder for me to pedal around than the peugeot. The bentley I just can't find a setup that works for me yet.
