Toyota GT one is fastest according to one thread

I purchased one a few days back and decided to try it after reading the ranking thread and its true.
It destroys every care except for my X2010s, FGT and Ferrari F1 cars.

First time I took my GTone out, I ran it on High Speed Ring reverse and on my 1st try, it was 1.022 off my lap record using the F2007(keep in mind my F2007 run wasnt a hard run, just a test), and a full 3.013 faster then my 908, 3.021 faster then my R10.

Its obnoxiously fast.

I cant apples to apples compare to the minolta as I have only used the minitola once.

I prefer the C9 over Minolta, but the GT-ONE is fast too.

But on a track which requires good handling, I go with the 787B. It isn't as fast, approx. 2-3 seconds behind the C9 at Sarthe, but B-spec Bob can also drive it far better than the others. Bob doesn't spin with it, only do stylish drifts when frustrated (i.e. both bars down).

In Reality the Jaguar XJR-9 was the most sucessefull Group C car, 3rd car with most Km's done in a 24hr Le Mans, followed by porshe 917K and Audi R15.
Then it's the sauber Mercedes. the 4th.

Even in the game I think the C9 is the best, only R92, Jaguar and Audi R8 even come close to this beast. AH Also the Minolta. The GT-One ONLY has betetr TOP Speed, but lap time he loses against all of these for far more than 0.5 seconds.

Isn't it funny how the Minolta Toyota and the Toyota GT-ONE are 2 of the fastest non-formula cars in the game and yet Toyota never won at Le Mans with them?

Winning at the Le mans depend on tons of other factor beside pure speed, reliability, strength of team, strategy.

The GT-One might be the fastest no-formula car in GT5 but actually the 908 should be faster than any Group C car or LMP.

I haven't purchased a Class C car yet, but I'm shopping. I much prefer handling over speed with twitchiness. In reading this and other threads, it seems the 787B and the Peugeot 908 HDI are the best handling in this category? Is that the consensus opinion, if there is such a thing in GTP?

I got a 45sec on Tzukuba with both Bentley Speed 8 and 908 Peugeot.
Try to beat that with a Minolta and you know which car is faster.

I've gotten a 46 Second laptime on Tsukuba in a Chapparal 2J. That's not very far out of their league and I could probably gain a few seconds on that. It's definitely quick but it loses so much time in 1st gear.

Most people I've seen say that the 787B is better handling than everything else, including the 908 HDI.

I would say the Minolta with turbo upgrade / 1030+HP is the best group C car in the game.

I have a Mazda Furai as well and it's no where near the same league as the my Minolta.

I ran 3 laps at Sarthe in my GT-ONE against 3 F1's in open lobby. Guess they did not read room description. My car was limited to 825hp, I beat all three. I finished about 700 feet ahead. There were two Minoltas and a 787 I also won against. All were good clean racers. I like the 787 just as much as the GT. C9 accelerates quick and is real fun.

The GT One , won the 1990 Le Mans. Martin Brundle was one of the drivers. The car had a much cooler paint sceame too on the 90 vertion.

That would be expected if those F1 cars were setup normally. La Sarthe is a bit more top-speed-friendly than the courses F1 cars normally race on, so F1 cars are normally configured more for twisting with speeds rarely exceeding 200 MPH. With a low-downforce, higher-speed setup I wouldn't expect the GT-ONE to beat them.

I'm pretty sure the GT-One competed in 1998 and 1999. Not 1990. The car that did win that year was the Jaguar XJR-12. Brundle was part of the driver line up.

A little more information on the Toyota GT-One, it finished second at the 1999 Le Mans, one lap down the winning BMW V12 LMR. Thanks in part to a burst tire forcing it to pit. Also, the driver line up for that year was all Japanese. Brundle had no relations with the Toyota team.

It had a better chance than the Minolta, that's for sure.

I have yet to try the GT-One in-game. I've got all of the Group C Le Mans cars, and the Sauber Merc is still my clutch :sly:

Again GT is more biased towards Japanese cars. In truth, the Sauber-Mercedes C9 and the Peugeot 905 should be among the fastest of the lot. They actually won Le Mans, and raced under the Group C category.

Yes it's fastest, but GT-One has better top speed.
Minolta, GT-One and Sauber C9 is three fastest cars, but I prefer C9 by far.

Cheers for posting that. I always thought it won , I remember in GT2 you could have the road car and I thought it was a 90 and 91 race car.

The GT One and C9 are fastest around the track

R92CP, R89C, Toyota 7, are really close.

all others are a bit worse.

i have many road cars that go faster then it as well

Generally I would say yes, the Minolta seems to be quicker, but it largely depends on the track(for example on De La Sarthe, my R92cp is quickest) and driver preference. Out of all the LMP/Group c I have, in my opinion the order goes:

Minolta
Bentley Speed 8=Audi R8 '01
Nissan R92CP
Audi R8 '05
GT-One
908
Pescarolo C60 Judd GV5 '04

yeah i have to say i dont like the gt one either and i like the minolta alot i just hate how it looks

for me

probably,

R92, Sauber, 905, 787B, Vertigo, 7, Minolta, -> rest
