Is the new DLC worth getting?

For me, yes. Got the car pack ONLY for the Aventador and Aston though, the others can go SMD and die TBH :P But the Test Track is awesome for breaking in... If you don't mind the stats, just repeat the Max Speed Test with a rubber band and you have an engine break in machine.

I have got it and will do a review for it and post it on the OP so people can see :)

And mmmmmmm beer and junky food :D

Yeah, I love beer and junky food! But its even better to have them while my GT5 is stuffed with all the DLC I can buy :dopey:

Track yes. Cars no. The performance measurements really add something to the game, and the track itself is pretty enough that you'll probably bust out doing a race there every once in a while.

Cars, no. Garage bug still hasn't been fixed. The Countryman is basically just a bigger, heavier and crappier handling version of the two already in the game rather than the Mini-Evo it PD could have implemented instead. The Beetle, though modeled and recorded beautifully, is so wildly incorrect in its specifications that it is a joke. The Jaguar is much nicer looking than the Standard, but sounds the same as the Standard and most of the gauges don't work. The Leaf is a Leaf. The Aventador still sounds wrong and supposedly has incorrect gearing as well.

The Aston seems to be spot on in every way, but your still paying for two cars that are correctly modeled and four that aren't. If none of those problems bother you, however, go for it.

Wow, that's disappointing to hear about the Lamborghini and Volkswagen. :(

I love these DLC's.... the Aventador is so Awesome (when properly tuned of course) Route X is so handy to have for both testing and messing about...

I'd recommend both DLC's!

I bought both simply because I like 'completeness' but I would favour the car pack over a ridiculously long fictional track. The car pack is worth the money just to enjoy the beauty of the Beetle :)

I haven't got the Car Pack yet, because I ran out of PSN credits, but the track is not bad. It gets quite boring of you're racing though, as even in the X1, it takes almost a minute to get from on end to the other on either straights. But the speed test is great for tuning or if you just wanna compare the performance of the cars. I kinda want the Car Pack, but to be honest, I feel like I don't need the cars, as the Aston and Lambo sounds quite boring for me. I probably won't drive them often. And the Jag.....well now? Too late to appeal to me, as I already have the standard version. The Beetle sounds like a fun car, along with the Leaf, but is the price worth it? The Countryman is gonna be forgotten, just like the Mini in Car Pack 2.
But it is your opinion, so whatever you do, I don't really care.

The cars.....well the Aventador isnt all its cracked up to be, it looks great, but its not that quick in a straight line, in the corners it feels really heavy and sluggish.
The Beetle is cool, creates some great pictures and is good fun to drive.
The Nissan Leaf is just a joke.
Countryman is as Toronado said, a heavier, uglier, slower Cooper S.
The Jag we already have as a standard, the only plus side is you can take pictures in the locations with it.
The V12 Vantage is great, sounds awesome, looks amazing, and drives beautifully. Really love this car.

The track is incredibly boring by yourself, the speed testing thing is flawed (Ellis see my post in the FGTC :D) However you can take some incredible pictures, and it will be good for some dirty nascar racing.

TheeFrogmanlego
out of ten
Car pack 3 : 9/10
speed pack: 7/10

Good rating. Maybe 7.5 - 8 on the track. The sunsets and sunrises are stunning! Love the beatle. Got 4 different ones already. Love the handling on the lambo hate the looks but they might grow on me. I am happy overall though.

The track is worthwhile for tuning purposes.

Bought the DLC for the aston martin and the aventador.

Both are about the same price as a drink at the bar so for me pricewise its a non-issue. If I had to pick between, I'd say the test track is more useful.

In my opinion, any addition/s to GT5(via DLC) is a good thing as it brings something new to the game(well, maybe not the Standard to Premium models:odd:) regardless if it's cars or tracks.
Look at it this way...
You're gonna get endless hours of fun out of the cars and tracks,so it's money well spent.
If you think you're a true GT die hard, then any DLC is a no brainer.
Otherwise, choose and buy at your own discretion.

PS. Route X was much needed as there is no official test track since launch.

If a LMP car is to be included in a pack in 2012, at least use the Audi R18 which is an amazing machine.

I do hope we get the Audi R18 in the future, but I think Audi was too busy racing it recently to let PD borrow it to take pics and measurements.

I got the DLC and had the biggest laugh in a while maxxing out the '66 beetle. It just falls over at every sharp corner and the option c rear wing makes it look like a homemade RUF on acid. Worth it for that alone :)

What are you talking about? The new lambo is a beast at the drag strip, its a GTR beater...

and also, 330 mph online races at ssrx is the most fun ive had in awhile

however the leaf, beetle, mini, jag, v12 i dont give a **** about, i consider them bonuses
