Erm... since i dont own a car but i do drive before but never over the speed of 110km/h.

Is the wind sound suppose to be louder then the engine sound? So far i've never touch those individual volume except i've turn off the music playback during racing.

Everytime i go above 150km/h or something, the wind sound gets louder and louder and eventually it will basically replace my engine sound. Is that correct?

I think if driving those convertibles, it mean it's normal to hear the wind roaring pass our ears but when in confined vehicles, is that how it's suppose to be?

It's happening on my machine too. I have the Black 787B, which has one of the most beautiful engine whines in the game, and now I get to listen to it basically fade away and be replaced by the crappy wind buffetting noise.

Ive only been about 160 (on a bike) but from what I have seen from High speed runs in cars It seems to be pretty accurate, at least if you were inside the car

yes, the sound is realistic. say when your driving at around 125mph you really start hearing it. i've heard wind noise at just 85-90mph.

i like the fact that they added the wind noise. it makes it feel like your going just that much faster.

its for realism, once you really get going inreal life and the game, the wind on your car gets pretty intense. I can only image what it must be like at 280 mph...

or I can just go play :)

Yup, sound pretty realistic to me... Been 140mhp on a car and the wind noise was crazy ass hell... The bike is a diffrenent story, when I hit 170mph I'm at around 15,500rpms and it's sweet music to the ears

I don't mind it ... It's just another thing in the game that adds realism.. Never knew when you get in the slip stream it goes away.. I gotta dry that next time i play..

*Totally off topic*- Has anyone else noticed that the AI is horrible at braking? I mean at every corner with most cars I can out brake the AI.. They brake way too early on like 90% of the corners.

I dunno, my 1886 Diamler motor carriage, doesn't fair to well over speeds of 10mph.....

The wind really makes the long straight at La Sarthe frightening. As for it's volume, it's probably a little exaggerated, but it's so intense I can't complain.

i LOVE the wind sound. i think it's totally realistic, and really adds to the gameplay when you're flying around. Makes me more tense.

Lol yes the wind sound is realistic. When I get up around 140 you cant hear it that much, but at around 180 you can definantly hear it. Corvettes need just a little more aerodynamics with the window seals and cracks, otherwise you probably wouldn't hear it so much. I know that in a ferrari the sound is less at 150 than the corvette because the trimming and lines are alittle more refined into the body. All in all I love the added sound effect. Plus the fact that at 200mph+ in the game it's so realistic how one bump can send those cars flying. Well cool for me, frustrating for everyone else I play that dont grasp the fact that this game isnt a Need For Speed crappy physics engine.

Try doing 120 mph with the top down in real life - I did it with my old Porsche Targa, and there was a tiny bit of wind noise if I remember correctly.

With my current 'plaything' car, even when doing 160 mph with a 'normal' roof, wind noise is pretty damn loud, but that's partly because of the car's aerodynamics ( a '90 Saab 900 - yes, somewhat tuned turbo power :) )

Accurate indeed. At 172mph you have to yell at the other person in the car so they can hear you. Did it last week in the M3 (to prepare for GT4, of course :)).

i agree. 👍

My friend raced various top-level prototypes in the late 80's and early 90's and describes the sound and feel of a prototype at speed on La Sarthe as "very accurate".

I've taken an Audi S4 (2001) and Porsche Boxster (2002, current car) to over 120mph. The S4 is a sound deadened sedan at regular city/freeway speeds. But over 80mph the wind sound starts to creep in. I think most German engineered cars are only designed to make wind noise tolerable to a certain speed. Afterwards, pretty much bulletproof limousines are the only things that will be more quiet. The shaky steering wheel is also accurate if the road isn't perfectly smooth. It's even worse with lower profile tires. If any of you have sports cars and there's a race track nearby, you owe it to yourself to get on the road course/oval and try it for yourself. Oh yeah, and the wind problems get worse with a car's age as the seals start to need replacing on the various windows/doors.

ive been ~170-180 in a 800bhp viper soft top and the wind was 10x louder than the engine heh., my 02 civic with like ~150bhp tops at like 130 and its loud then... especialy with the window cracked heh.

Yeah wind really gets that loud. I've pushed 165 and the wind is about all u could hear, besides the tires/road from the tiny bumps that now feel like potholes, which GT4 also reproduces pretty well i think 👍 , and my car isn't exactly quiet :D (93 RX-7 Type R)
