Can anybody give an explanation on how to better understand what each of the weather settings (online lobby/lounge) actually do or alternatively point me to a guide.

I have tried the search but it only goes back so far and the threads it returned seemed to be all about offline A spec / B spec racing.

Thanks in advance

I think Online settings is the same as Offline settings, other than vehicle behavior.

All I can tell you that I'm certain is the Weather Severity has different conditions per step. 0% is none, 25% is a slight drizzle, 50% is drizzle, 75% is light rain, and 100% is heavy rain. Of course, worsened conditions will mean a slipper surface and quicker wet accumulation.

Yes, 0% is basically sunny weather (more bright than the regular default setting without weather), 25 to 50% is drizzle/fog to light rain and 75 to 100% is heavier rain.
You can change the scale of dynamic weather from 0 to 10 as well (0 means the weather will remain at either 0/25/75/100%) which makes that it changes randomly and how fast or slow it changes dependingly.

You can also set the level of water on the track surface beforehand (0-100%), so you could for example choose weather at 0%, the level of dynamic weather at 0 and water level at 100% whereby the track dries up slowly when racing.

Ok so if I set
Surface water at 40%
Weather at 25%
Weather change at 10

Will the track just continue to dry and not rain much ?
or
Will it start to dry but then rain will come again and increase the surface water level back towards the starting point of 40% over a race then at that point start to dry again but never going above 40% surface water ?

Is a 30 minute race long enough to see the weather change ?

What should I expect to see If I change the weather setting to a higher percentage ?

Is the weather setting just for the initial start and then after a time period the weather will run through the full range ie sunny to heavy rain ?
or
does it limit the range from sunny to light rain ? @ the 25% Weather setting ?

Thanks in advance

If you set the weather dynamics to 10 (or any number above 0) and initial weather at 25%, that 25% will just be the starting point, it could change to 0% or to 100% or anything in between and the time it stays that way (or when it begins to change) and the effect it has on surface water is random (obviously when it's raining heavily the surface water increases and vice versa if it's dry, but light drizzle often has no or an irrelevant effect on surface water).
It is largely completely random I think and the 0-10 serves mostly as an indicator of likelyness for changing weather, not a guarantee (apart from 0).

So only if you set the weather at 0%, the scale of dynamic weather to 0 and surface water level to 40% the track will be guaranteed to remain sunny and will slowly dry to 0% eventually.
Any other setting will make that uncertain to happen.
