well your computer is not toldly off cuz of the system clock right so i thought there would be somthing that they would make so your computer would turn it self on
The system time is stored on the CMOS battery, it uses very, very little power. To run a program, you need the computer to be fully powered on, using CPU and memory, and have an OS. Even then, if a program could do it, it couldn't because a program cannot run when the computer is OFF.
That's only partially true. There is another option called "wake-on-lan" where you can turn a computer on using the network card.
A "program" to wake a computer isn't possible because the operating system isn't functioning when the computer is off. However, instead of powering down the computer, you could tell it to 'sleep'. I believe software can 'wake' a 'sleeping' computer.
there is a program like what you are asking about on the imac's at my school. i treid it and it did work though i am not sure if it has something to do with the network conection the computers have.
some time im on the net a pop up like that apears on my pc when i'm on the net.
but i don't know where that come from,so i can't tell you where the program is but the next time i find i will let you know
