Me and 3 other friends want to race eachother without being interrupted by anyone. Is there a way to make a password protected or friends only protected lobby?
Thanks!

I believe you can make a private lounge from the community section in GT Life without accessing the Online Lobby section

The host could put the room limit to 4, so when you and your friends are in, there is no room for strangers to join the room.

As Joe_Ald said above, you can create a private "My Lounge" that only your PSN friends can see and join. You can set the initial settings of the room from the "Options" cog off of the GT Life screen.

Once inside, you can change tracks, limit cars, etc, just like you would in a public lobby, but only your PSN friends can join. So, just make sure that the people that you want in the lounge are actually on your PSN friends list. I know that sounds pretty obvious, but I just wanted to make sure that you knew. ;)

Once you have started the lounge from the "Community" section, a small circle will appear next to your name in the Community section and then, your friends can just click on that little yellow circle and join directly to your private lounge. 👍

I also do this when I want to tune my vehicles, but I get the occasional friend that drops in and then we end up starting a public room for racing.

Thats why I have another account with no friends on it. That way when I go into my lounge to tune or test, I know I won't be interrupted.

Just click the coffee cup on the community section and you are in your own lounge mate :)

I was always led to believe the private lounge had a worse connection than public lobbies, something about peer to peer?
In answer to the OP, limit your room capacity or use private lounge if you just want any of your buddies, but you cant kick them (unfortunatley).

Also in a "my lounge" room everyone can change the settings. So if somehow some idiot gets in and refuses to leave there is nothing you can do.

I wonder if that's because those people connected via the yellow icon of someone on their friend list who was also on yours? I might try that out. I also believed that to be the case though, I did not think non friends could join a lounge?

Yes it will be 'friends of friends' joining... learn before talking.

im gonna repeat :" actually thats a lie , i had setted up a lobby on my lounge and still appered some strangers that werent friends of my friends soo unless you kick them or they wont find the room your safe"

understood ?

Well you can't kick people from a private lounge. So I guess you still work around in the open lobby.
That's what I understood

This is correct. You Cannot kick people from My Lounge, and people not on your friends list cannot enter your “my lounge”.

I wish more people would learn how to use their own private lounges for races they want to keep private instead of cluttering the open lobby with private rooms.

All you need to do is just create a private lounge setting the limit of (number of) players permitted to enter the lobby "4", only for your 3 friends and yourself, and connect to the room before the lobby is detected available as being online letting other strangers get in there.

Quick question on this, when you create the private lobby does it stay there after you log off or do you need to set it up each time?

Once it is set up the first time it is permanently available for your friends to join, but when everyone leaves it will revert to the default settings. Your friends can still join it anytime they want and adjust all the settings themselves. The exceptions are the race/voice quality options which you can only adjust from your own GT Life options.

Your friends can join your private lounge even if you are not online. Private lounges are perfect if you only want to race with friends and no one else.

Thanks for the responses, its a far better solution than what we were using! Saves having to enter that 20 digit number in each time...
