Is there a way to play games with...

My Laptop only has a SVGA graphic card (i don't now if it is called like this but i think you get it) and i wanted to play game that i have for my old biblically slow computer. Every time i install a game the game doesn't open or runs at something like 2 FPS. Is there a way to play games in this computer?
 
I'm gonna go ahead and tell you from the get go that the most probable answer is no.

However, without knowing the actual video card of your laptop and the game you're trying to play, there's little we can do to help.
 
That's still not what we're looking for, but from the look of it your laptop doesn't have a dedicated graphics chip, and its performance for 3D gaming must be bad.

And you still haven't told us what game you're trying to run, that is important...

Download CPU-z or PC Wizard and look in the graphics card tabs, it should tell you exactly what graphics card your laptop has.
 
I'm trying to play a guitar hero copy called frets on fire (i also want to play nfs mw and other games but i'm sure the computer can't take it) and it runs really slow.

Wow.

That must be fairly dated now. Frets on Fire, Guitar Hero style may not actually work on that. NFS:MW definitely won't play on that laptop.

But ideally, if you could give us more information on the laptop itself, this would help.

What Processor does it use?
What speed does this processor runs at? (actual speed, not rated)
How much RAM do you have in this laptop?
The graphics card itself? separate or integrated with the processor memory?
What monitor size as well? (odd question, but it does help in some cases)
And what operating system are you using for this laptop?

Once you are able to fill these questions with answers to the best of your knowledge, we will then be able to give you more concrete answers on whether what you are doing requires divine help or is actually possible to do.

Oh wow, SiS672. I think I had that in my Athlon from about 7 years ago. Unfortunately, that'll play anything in the last 5 years like ****.
 
You'll be fine running games like Diablo II, but after that, you're out of luck. :P
 
This is a simple site that will automatically detect your graphics card through a java program and give you minimum and recommended stats for your computer on any game. Not all games are included in it's list of course.
 
Hmm, if it's running 1280x768 it's not a standard VGA; max resolution on standard VGA (not to be confused with SVGA = Super VGA) was 640x480 and hasn't been used since the early-mid 1990's.

In any case, yeah, it won't play most games released in the past five years.

Just out of curiosity, was it really too much trouble to actually type out the last two or three words for the thread title?
 
Microsoft Train Simulator? Even THAT might have trouble.

Monster Truck Madness 2 would probably work fine, and, until recently, had a huge modding community.

Will the computer play Pro Cycling Manager? the 2005 game?

I'm pretty sure your computer's hardware should be able to run that game, unless it's having some serious slowdown issues.

My 6 year old NEC Versa E2000 can run NFS:MW, Sim City 4, GTA:SA and other games like without issue.

The specs are:
Intel Celeron M 1.50 GHz
1280 MB of Ram
64 MB Intel Extreme Graphics 2-M

If my laptop can play games like that with a woefully bad graphics card (if you call it that) then your laptop should be able to play them.

Woah, 1,280 MB of RAM? Don't think that is possible... What sticks are you using?

*calculates it furiously*...

Oh, a 1 GB stick of RAM with 256 MB of RAM added on.... Haven't used something like that for a while....
 
Good news for me. My old pc works now so I can play in it. It's old, and with week specs but it works. :D YEAH!
 
It has 256MB of RAM on the motherboard and a 1GB stick. It can play the games quite well (on medium graphics for most games). Try installing the appropriate drivers for your graphics card fabmaru.
