Is there a way to report dirty players?

Yeah, that kind of stuff happens. It's usually best to try to pass people on the inside so you don't run in to these types of situations.

I'd love it if there was a report feature for this, but there isn't.

Also, in this case I'm not too sure it was really dirty on purpose - you can take the wide line there and it seems to me that he didn't see you.
He clearly turned left in a right hand corner, hitting a car on the outside line. Yeah its crystal clear what happened there.

The answer is no, only report what people say in the chat, offensive usernames, liveries etc.

I'm personally not sure I'd want it, the amount of nonsense that would be reported would take ages for them to sort and inevitably lead to people being punished unfairly.

Blocking thier individual PSN ID is hit and miss, but your best bet.

I’ve been matched with people I’ve blocked in the past, and also seen others booted out of matches I join with no rhyme or reason, as well as been booted from games I join with blocked players. It doesn’t work even 50% of the time but is the best option available with all other options being non-existent

I agree dirty players are frustrating. Trust in karma... I've seen dirty players just keep falling back in the pack as other players recognize the dirty play and exact some level of "justice". That being said, sometimes the dirty will get away with it.
In the GT1 top split first race yesterday, there was a dirty player running 3rd, closely followed, who ran out of gas, in the last lap, on the downhill right where you (OP) were taken out. The dirty player tried to get a push from the 4th guy and they ended up taking each other out - gave up 3rd and 4th place. The 4th place guy finished 6th or so, the "out of gas dirty one" finished 11+. Dirty players are thinking short term, but in the long term they lose out.

My strategy:
  • stay clean, raise DR and keep SR topped off: Eventually you reach a level where the number of dirty racers is minimal
  • hone your race craft: generally dirty players rely on their dirty bag of tricks to stay ahead, and fail to make gains on race craft. By growing your car control skills you'll gain enough skill to stay ahead of dirty racers, no matter their tricks.
  • fairness: do your part to propagate karma - clean, respectful with clean players and appropriate justice with dirty players. you get what you give.

One thing dirty players do not appreciate: A chess game of a pass through the corners towards the finish line where you feel the thrill and satisfaction of a well fought, clean, adrenaline filled battle :D

PSN doesn't care about in-game conduct. As long as you don't use naughty words you can do whatever you want in the car.
Yeah, it's unfortunate Granturis

The report function on profiles/shared content I suppose just reports what it's reporting on and doesn't allow for explanation I'm guessing. Because I participate/run car shows in GT7, and I'd like to report some players for hate speech/disturbing comments. And as far as 1 of the players, it's not the first time, and I can't find 1 of said players as his settings I'm sure only allow certain people to search for him. So I have to find him again in the game. And the other, as it's been said, says to use in-game report functioin. I'd normally ignore such behavior, but I feel if this is continued behavior, then I think I should report them. Especially since the disturbing comments mentioned are inexcusable.

I really wish (not for these reasons, but for the situation it would certainly help) that we could search by username. Granturismo search engines, while improved in GT7 especially online, have been lacking.

Yesterday I was playing Manufacturers Cup and this happened. I just can't understand how the game doesn't correctly penalize dirty players, so I was wondering if there's anything I can at least do to report this type of behavior.

If PlayStation doesn't have a way for us to report to them, what the hell was the deal about the 3 minute video you have to watch just to get into sport? What's all this about? Fair play and sportsmanship and you're racing against yourself. It's a line of crap. What they should have said was welcome to the back alley races. You're basically in a knife fight. Get ready for anything goes. It's ridiculous. They should be held accountable for holding us accountable

How much would you like to pay the thousands of people it would take to review every "dirty driving" video that gets submitted for authenticity and hand out the punishment? Because a simple "This player is dirty!!!1!!1!" button would be abused to no end.

try this to report bad / dirty drivers

No, you cannot report naughty drivers, only naughty words, and that gets dealt with by Sony directly.

I don’t see how that was dirty driving based on the supplied video though. The other driver was clearly in front and had found their line, you got in it and paid the price. This is why PD wants you to Find Your Line™. Emphasis on ‘your’.
