Well my sister is moving out and she's taking her TV with her, which leaves one working TV in the house. I'd wanna watch stuff on my monitor, seeing it's as big as my old TV. I've heard of external tuner boxes and also heard of some kinds of cables. Would any one mind helping me out with this one?

Thanks,

-Matt.

Many video cards support such things naturally, through various adapters adn the like. One could also buy a tuner box if you don't want to run it through your computer.

Yeah, I wanna run it externally. My older brother mentioned something with a tuner card but I declined right away. My computer is slow enough with various programs running.

A tv tuner card won't make your pc run slower. I have one in a 1.3 Dell with only 256 ram and i run photoshop CS2, media player, torrents, converting videos, burning dvd movies and still can watch tv with all of that going at the same time. Only problem i have is if i set the video encoder to anything above normal priority. But it takes allot of resources.

What will you be hooking up? S-Video? Composite? Component?

That's what I don't know

I only have AGP, DVI and a power connector on my monitor. I don't know how else to hook any thing up.

Would any one mind showing me a cheap external or internal tuner card / device?

Would I be able to watch TV on the whole monitor or would I need to maximize the window to watch TV on this.

I don't want a tuner card / box at all, but I think I might buy a TV now  If I can find a cheap LCD TV so I can hang it on my wall, I'll be happy with that.
