Is there any way to make sounds better w/out a big system?

My initial comment was comparing the purchase of a 360 with one single game (now a budget title) to that of an audio system. A base 360 with FM4 can be had for around $200-$250 retail (I haven't priced them recently). That is a radically different price point than that of an entire audio system. If not, then we're talking about an extremely low end audio system.
Here in UK a second hand Xbox 360 you can get for £70 (Can get for £40 but i'm talking about one with warranty for peace of mind and decent condition)
and Forza 4 for £15.

Usually things are much cheaper in the US.

250 American dollars is about 153 pounds, correct? Is that roughly what a new 360 & FM4 would cost?

Didn't think that the thread would expand this much while I was trying to drive a RUF RGT ^^;
But I guess I can stand the sounds of most cars (with the exception of RX-7s w/racing exhaust).

Also, how did the conversation turn from sound to the price of a 360? LOL

I'm in a better mood about the sounds now

Not sure if it was just my imagination... but the sounds seemed to get better after I had to switch to the AV and then back to HDMI... especially the tyre squeal... its still there but seems much more balanced

Someone had brought up buying a 360 and FM4 because Turn-10 (FM's developer) did a much better job with the audio than Polyphony.

I use B&W C5 headphones. They are far better than the tv's sound, and quite affordable.
Engine sounds need improvement, but we have to wait what PD will do in this area.

I don't know if I'd count on them doing much of anything with the engine sounds. My honest guess is they'll update/upgrade small things for a little while, then switch all of their focus onto the PS4.
