i havent managaed to get the carbon fibering element of photoshop 7 to work until now and this is my first successful try does it look ok or is it ****?

Well it isn't *****. But it's a little dark. The line where the hood meets the windshield looks jagged.

It looks like flat black. Carbon fibre reflects, so change the layer properties to overlay or something else.

Also, I don't see a carbon fiber pattern in there. Is it just black?

There is a clear pattern. Check youre monitors settings.

Ah, I can slightly make out a pattern. It's still really too dark. Just turn down the opacity of the carbon fiber layer and it should look better.

Yeah I find it works better if you use the overlay option on the layers It uses the reflections and lets you better postion the hood and make it look better. One more thing tho...the carbon fiber dosen't go between the grille and the headlights

why not its part of the hood is it not?

ok some improvements like inbetween the lights and the grill not cf'ed and some reflections as well

Sweetness. It looks better now that it has a cool plasticy look. I can see the pattern on both images because my monitor is very bright.

Yes. Just try to work on your selection a bit. You got a few rough edges and places under the windscreen where you missed the hood. Try zooming in to 200 or 300%. It's a lot easier to select your hood then.

now u mention it i did zoom in as far as i could go without losing any of the hood off of my screen so thats the best i could do.
and another thing thats the first time ive managed to actually pull it off and ive tried since and cant get them to look anything as good as that!

so when u lift the hood up that bit doesnt come with it?
im quite sure it does and so its part of the hood.

Dude, thats a Civic, the other pic isnt. In the other pic (the white one) the grill is part of the hood as you can see a big crack below it...

Actually the red one is an accord.....anyway Im not sure because on my car (not the red one) thats not part of the hood and it still has the big crack below it....try to find a pic of the white car or one like it with the hood open and see. Also post a pic of the car without the carbon fiber hood so maybee we can figure this out.

The grill is part of the hood. THe crack that is between the grill and hood is too small of a spacing for it to be the dividing line for the hood. The grille rises up with the hood (bonnet)...

i wasnt planning on doing the grill in cf anyway it looks better with jus the hood like my second try

This one looks more plasticy (which is good) but I preferred the larger carbon fibre pattern.
