Is this RAM compatible with my laptop?

Yea, sure mate. For the most part, RAM is RAM, it's very universal. The only major things you have to watch are whether it's DDR3 (which this is, no worries there) or DDR2, and with DDR2 you have to be careful since some is 200-pin, and some is 204-pin (I think, I could have those numbers wrong, someone correct me if I do). Corsair RAM is great, a mate of mine has the desktop version of that same RAM in his rig and it's never given any troubles. :)

It is indeed compatible. It also appears that Amazon has about the best price on 2x4Gb RAM right now, too, so get it ordered! 👍

DDR2 was never 204pin. Reference the pic below:

SDRAM SODIMM is 144 pins and DDR1 SODIMM is 200 pins. While DDR1 and DDR2 share the same pin count, they don't have the same notch placement so even if you bought the wrong ram it would not work.

Edit: Actually buy this ram. $34.99 with $5 off code, free shipping, and newegg does not charge sales tax for NY ;)
