Honestly, I get on a train or two for four little hours and what the hell has just happened?
At this point I'm just going to send you on a trip whenever we want GT news.

Can you imagine what would be announced if we could find you a 12-hour flight with no WiFi?

Interesting. I actually like the car but unless PD creates some EV series there won't be a lot of use for this car. Which is a shame because it actually looks decent and not something designed by a 7yr old
Who’s to say there won’t be an EV series in the near future? Usually it takes about 3-4 of a certain type of car to be added to the game before circuits get races for a series for it, like Silvia Sisters or Evolution Meeting. Maybe there’ll be one now that we have the Xiaomi

3-4??? There are a TON of EV's already in the game. Other than the once-in-a-blue-moon Special One-Make Event, we never get any events for EV's. I'm not against EV's (I owned a Nissan Leaf for a time), but PD really needs to do something about properly integrating them into the career mode. They just end up being window dressing, or at best something that get's used in a private online lobby a few times before collecting dust in your garage. I WANT to be able to use them. Let me be clear on that....lol. However, judging by the lack of events for non-EV vehicles in the game (painfully small, considering track count/vehicle count) I just don't see it changing anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong.

Why you allow such torture to this old man?

Send him off on a wooden ship to discover the Americas and we might get Pikes Peak back.
Would it have animals or Rum? Very important details here.

I very much agree with this sentiment. I'm more than willing to accept EVs in Gran Turismo, just wished they fit into the games structure better. Heck even if you could run non-one-make custom races with them, I'd take the Xiaomi, the Tesla's, and the Ioniq 5 and create a custom EV racing class.

Hopefully now that the EV selection will have a decent amount of vehicles, PD will finally add an event for them. If Polyphony is committed to EVs, they need to stand as equals to the rest of the car list with their own designated place and role within the "ecosystem", rather than the niche, "try and forget" status they currently have.

The problem with this car's fit in GT7 is not it being an EV, the Mission X/Afeela/Taycan/both Teslas can be used in quite a few events. Racing car EVs (the ID.R) are problematic because of fuel multipliers, but road EVs fit in fine

The problem with the Xiaomi (and the Ioniq 5) is that it is not Japanese, European, or American, in a game where 80%+ of the events are either region or manufacturer specific. The G70 and the Hyundai Genesis 3.8 have the same issue.

This is fantastic news, almost too good to be true… First Chinese car in the GT series, isn't it? I wonder how long it's gonna take to make the in-game car, especially since it looks like Kaz have only driven the real car for the first time a week ago, maybe it's gonna be ready in September at the earliest?

I wonder if there’d be the same reaction from some people if the EV being added was a Evija.
There's at least one GT7 player (yours truly), who doesn't give a **** about the Evija, either. EV aren't EVil (even though you can clearly see where they got their name from 😜) but there are people who don't care about them much, especially performance models. I'm a Porsche enthusiast but I don't care about the Taycan or the Mission whatever cars, either. I'd actually love to have an i3 as a daily but I can't afford that as a 3rd car, especially since I don't have a commute anymore - but that doesn't mean I want to have it in GT7. Same is true for any Rimac or Tesla, especially Tesla. Not like anything I can do about PD putting it into the game instead of some other cars, or some additional tracks :)

I’m already off on a tangent thinking about the possibilities of having a mobile company promoting this game. Imagine “Gran Turismo mobile” on every persons xiaomi phone in China. At least a Xiaomi car and a track to trial demo on every one of those phones.

Anyway, good stuff so far. I don’t mind the car. At least it’s another four door sedan. Which the car market aren’t making a lot of any longer.

That is nice for me.
I think sponsors partnerships helps to finance the the devs projects for keep the franchise alive.
Good work for PD.
About EV cars, there are many of them in other games.
In FM2023, for an example, there are some cars like Xpeng, Audi E-Tron, and a Hyundai Ionic 5 and Porsche Taycan, I guess, alongside with other EV hypercars.
I still think EV cars will never replace gasoline ones, but I think is a nice and different experience to drive some of these EVs.

I wonder if it will have an interior or be like a fair few of the other VGT's that are useless in VR as they don't have an interior.

There are plenty of classic race cars and modern super/hyper cars to pick from and this gets in.

I apologize for being so negative.

No problem, but I don't think is the case of Xiaomi SU7, if it comes for the game.
And about these complains, I'm already satisfied with the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Bugattis, Maseratis and even RUFs, plus some classics race cars, like JGTC GT500s, that was already included on the game.
And also the possibility of making some race car replicas over road models using tunning and customization features.
