Is your car in GT7 and if so, do you reckon you drive it more in the game or real life? How does it compare in terms of handling etc?

Focus RS mk3, trackday often in real life.
the car is really more forgiveness in real life, you can control slip angle more easy in real than GT7.
Going to SPA francorchamps in 10 days, so i can compare real life vs gt7.
what i already know, in real life i really try to avoid the track limits (tire dont'like it, risk of suspension broke etc...).

i've seen some videos on YT there +/- 5 secs between gt7 and real life depend on track.

why wan't to compare ? the break point are evolving in reality, i don't want to broke my real car, the tires, break pads cost an arm so i try to preserve it in real life etc...

GT7 is a game (really good game for me and i love it so much), try to be near a simulator (tracks and physics seems good), but really far from reality (it's not a critic), i've played online recently (last time must be on PS3 maybe ? don't remember) and with a good wheel you can have race thrill etc...

Nope, none of our current cars are in GT7.

It looks like a 2010 Camaro SS was in GT5 and GT6, so that's the closest to my 2015 SS Vert (still a fifth gen), but isn't in GT7.

I have a Volvo 240 in exactly the same engine/trim/gearbox as the model in GT7. Only difference is mine has blue seats which means it's much cooler.

I haven't tried the 240 in-game since 1.71's physics changes, but before that update, the 240 was extremely tail-happy and unstable. In my real 240 you can plant the throttle on a sharp turn in 2nd gear and you won't get any wheelspin or oversteer. Perks of having no power and a chassis tuned for understeer.

I also have a 2007 Suzuki Swift Sport but I haven't noticed anything in the GT7 car that's unexpected compared to my limited experiences. Feels a lot faster in reality though :D

Two of my cars are varying degrees of close, but neither are exact matches.

Closest is probably my 2026 Hyundai Elantra N-Line, the Elantra N's little brother  GT7 definitely helped influence that choice, although I chose the lower trim for more practical reasons (i.e. gas mileage, cost). Still really fun to drive, though, and makes my morning/evening commutes a little more enjoyable.

Next closest is my 2014 Honda CR-V (pre-facelift), but it may as well be a completely different car compared to the one in the game, considering they're 7 years (and 1 generation) apart.

My ‘98 Mazda MX-5 NB(I’ve got the base 5-speed 1.8L 140hp model, not the exact 6-speed 1.8L 143hp+/- RS) is in the datamine. Just waiting and hoping it is added between this December and next December.

I've got a Model 3 Dual Motor, and you can use the power restrictor to pull the Performance down from 510bhp to the 349bhp that they claim the UK model has.

I say the number they claim, as on my registration document, the output is rated at the KW equivalent of 469hp.

No exact match, closest is the 997 GT3. To me the rear engine bias and pendulum effect is greatly exaggerated in the game.

CX-30 in place of my 2018 CX-9 is good enough for me :D

At least it has less roll, but the CX-9 has a lot more grunt

Kinda, the ND Miata/MX-5/Roadster. Though, mine is the ND2 RF, 2.0L since that is the only engine in North America lol. The ND3 MSR Roadster would be the closest thing in game. The datamine has basically my car, though I believe it was the Brembo/BBS/Recaro version (mine is a GT-S).

No, and I really can't understand why given that a 2017 1.3 litre VW Golf Estate is the peak of automotive engineering and the height of cool.

Same!

Why we don’t have dailies with my golf and Passat 1.9tdi estates with 110k on is beyond me 😁

Sadly no (2015 Corolla manual)
Although it would be a fun addition to race against the Suzuki swift and other fwd “starter cars”… maybe one day

My car is the perfect "Sunday cup," but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm still waiting.

I once owned a Beetle. I miss it... :(

Renault Megane RS Trophy.

GT7 version is somewhat close in certain aspects. Mainly the rear end becoming unstable during hard braking.

I haven't tried it with spec 4 update yet.

I have a Focus ST '14 - pre-facelift. The facelift is in the game and the pre-facelift was in GT6. Not too much of a mechanical difference between the two though.

More fun to drive in real life obviously but characteristics wise it's not a million miles off. The rear can get a bit floaty in-game, which I don't get in real life, but you also get a lot less torque steer from the front than you do in real life. It's not a million miles off though and the steering response is a lot closer after 1.71 than it was beforehand. FWD in general feels a lot closer to the real thing in GT than other drivetrains do IMO.

In GT6 the gearing was completely wrong and 6th basically stalled you at racing speeds which obviously is not how it works, but they fixed that with the facelift for Sport :D

Mine is in the game yes, but in a different form. Mine is a 70 Maverick. I rebuilt it from stock to hot rod, but not to the extent as the one in the game. my version is what most people did to most cars back in the 70s through early 90s. I pulled the factory 200 straight 6 out and dropped in a 70s 302 and built it up some with a dual plane intake, 4 barrel Holley carb, Hooker headers, Progression Ignition distributor and a Carb Cheater which is absolutely amazing to use. Rebuilt suspension, new gauges with added gauges and a sports steering wheel. Added fatter tires on Cragar wheels. i have no exhaust and just run open long tube headers.

in the game i for sure drive mine more. irl i drive it only on good dry days. the handling in the game isnt bad but its hard to compare as its so differently built. theres no way my real life maverick could take corners like in the game. i would be wrapped around all the trees if i did that. driving in real life is more fun. you cant even imagine how good a 302 v8 with headers sounds unless youve heard it in person. the smell of exhaust, the vibration in your body as you rev it and the feel of the road beats the game by far.
