I know, I just read this on the BBC website, and I was in complete shock. What an awesome talent, such a loss. Rest in peace brother. :(

I actually rode on an airplane with Mr. Hayes once, a very nice man, very low-key. Although his little run with Scientology really tarnished my image of him, he will be missed indeed.

Of course, he will always be Chef to me...

See you in the great cafeteria in the sky.

Methinks anonymous will cook up a Scientology conspiracy over this.

I don't know if Anon would go that low, especially when he wasn't nearly as outspoken about Scientology as say your Tom Cruises and John Travoltas of the world. Give it time, maybe they would. Who knows...

I wouldn’t go for a conspiracy. However. I have heard Trey and Matt in an interview say that once Isaac got into Scientology, he lost a lot of weight and seemed very unhealthy, because his Scientology people were having him take herbal nonsense and other New Age stuff which was having a crippling effect on his body. I would strongly suspect that that had at least some influence in his early death.

I wonder how much money in his will Isaac left to Scientology?

Obviously, is was a lot (enough to murder for). :sly:

Hayes was a fantastic man, truly down-to-earth! :nervous:

Kinda tough to say that about a Scientologist isn't it? I mean, maybe he was talented, and maybe I enjoyed his work, but down-to-earth? Scientologist? Doesn't seem to fit.

The worst part about getting older is that I feel like I'm saying "..Guess who died today?" wayyyyy too often.

R.I.P. Chef Shaft.

It's a shame that his name should be tarnished with the reputation of being a Scientologist, but hopefully his music and his immense musical legacy will endure for far longer.

And yet, Martin Lawrence still walks the earth. There's no justice.

Sounds like what I heard on Comedy Central for Bob Saget's roast.

Guy says: Man it's been terrible, Pryor DEAD, Carlin DEAD,.....Bob Saget? Healthy as a mule.

Or something along those lines.

As a person, he was very down-to-earth, a nice guy.
