I just hope they don't design the map around Eliminator mode.
Best solution really would be to create a separate map around Eliminator or Hide and Seek.
It's Microsoft and Playground Games so I doubt this is the path they'll take. Multipurpose map design is kind of the bread and butter of PG's approach to this sorta stuff. It's why they have cross-country events after all.

That being said, one thing I did like about Hide and Seek was how they used smaller sections of Mexico for its 'maps' rather than set the entire thing in one big map no matter the match. Maybe if The Eliminator went for the same strategy and aimed for lower playercounts, it could work, but then you'd upend the entire point of it being a BR.

I hope they move the map design for FH6 away from The Eliminator as well. I think that's what lead to the current map being so wide and open with little in it. A design choice to enable players to race across a vast open map in The Eliminator.

In full transparency I will admit I do not enjoy The Eliminator. I do though honestly think the current map is too barren in places. I hope the next games map is populated to a greater extent with content.

I... do wonder at this point, did they choose Mexico because it was well-suited to a Battle Royale experience then?
For that matter FH4's Scotland/England is also rather flat in the center. Remember, all challenges in the Eliminator go towards the center of the map.

And Eliminator was the main post launch addition to FH4, suggesting the map was designed preemptively to suit it. They either remove the Eliminator from FH6 or we are going to end up with another "carpet" map again, which I cannot see being very popular.

Honestly, I somewhat enjoy Eliminator (7 out of 10, almost as much as a GOOD session of The Trial), but more than that, I enjoy the ability to just take off across the countryside once in a while a lot more. There's a reason I never go to the south and east sections of the map...it's honestly just a pain trying to navigate through jungles and cliffs in this game. I also know it's not a popular opinion, but I did NOT enjoy FH4's map, where few of the features really felt big enough to really enjoy and some sections of the map felt like they were cut in half, making it difficult to travel unless you went far out of your way to get around some unnecessary obstacle.

Another possible contender for cover car of FH6? I do fully expect it to be two cover cars like FH5.

I still think we're going to get a Japanese, or at least Asian, supercar for the cover car, just to really hammer in the point that this is set in Japan. I dunno if it'd be the Aspark Owl or a BYD ride, but I wouldn't put it past PG to go whole hog with the "it's set in Japan guys!" advertising point.

A Chinese or even Korean car in the cover of a game set in Japan would set off all kinds of controversy and that's the sorry way our world works. The main cover car would be Japanese, but the secondary car could be from elsewhere (except again, China or Korea).

I have a feeling the new Lexus sports car would be the cover car.

I can see a couple cars on a piece of mountain pass on the cover.
The Mazda Iconic SP or even a Tommy Kaira ZZ.

So weird that FH5 cover has the AMG One on dirt. An old Japanese game like Auto Modellista had the Viper on the cover. It’s possible the next FH game cover could be totally unexpected.

Automodellista had the Viper on the US version, rest of the world has a RX-7

Glad to see someone knowing AutoModellista though, that’s one of my all time favorite.

Not sure. It was deleted before I got the chance to see it. Thought it was still worth making note of

Edit: Nevermind, I think it was a joke tweet that got posted at a reeeeeeally bad time
it was this one

I'm wondering if whatever the cover car is for FH6, they may take the opportunity to go all electric.

Something like the Porsche Mission X would make a great cover car...

I'll bet they do. PG has been pretty darn good about promoting sustainable 'green' motorsports. Sure Japan doesn't have that many great performance EVs outside of the Aspark Owl, but I won't be surprised if we get a couple EV-focused updates early on.

My guess is the Lexus LFR/Toyota GT concept (which hasn't been formally revealed in production state)

or the McLaren W1 (which has been revealed).

Neither are in a game right now. We saw this with the Senna and the AMG One too.

The F80 is now in Motorfest, and the Mission X is in GT7. The Bugatti Tourbillon is in CSR 2

There is also a pretty good option in the Lexus Sport Concept if they want an EV specifically, but it will be a concept, which really shouldn't matter that much. But their prior selections are all production cars, even if the AMG One was technically added with pre production power output (which was 877 hp compared to the final 1063hp)

We could get the Nevera R (electric 2107bhp, now with a big wing) or the Konigsegg Jesko Absolut (wingless, petrol-based, 1600bhp@1390kg = 1.15bhp/kg which is better than the One:1 and even the Lotus Evija)...

Have either of them been in mainstream driving games yet?

The Absolut is in quite a few mobile games, while the Nevera R is yet to appear anywhere.

Still, I highly doubt that for a new Horizon game they’d pick a better version of a car we already have.

Realistically, the two remaining options now are the W1 and the LFR, with me believing it’ll be the LFR.

I can definitely see the LFR making its worldwide debut at TGS during the game announcement.

Of course we had the P1 and the Senna be covers cars, so the W1 has a high chance of continuing the legacy.

We also mustn’t forget that FH had 2 cars on the cover for the past few games, the other being an off-roader.

I can’t really think of any hot new off-roaders for candidates, maybe the new 4 Runner or Tacoma could be it.
