I got a letter from SBC saying that my ISP for accesing the internet is making toll calls. Costing us lots of money. I need to know how to change the ISP numbers to a local number and how I do that.

It's SBC Yahoo! DSL, and im wondering if Mozilla Firefox is causing this.

I need your help.

Well, I'd say stick to IE for about a month and see what SBC says?

Though, I don't see what Firefox has to do with this.

OK I just did a scan with NAV04 and I got one virus.

File Name: Ipin32.dll
Threat Name: Adware.Ipinsight
Action: Adware found
Status: Excluded

What?

How does spyware have anything to do with his connection dialing a toll number?

Blackbird: Call SBC and ask them for a local number.

Not my account. My mom's.

EDIT: Told my mom to call SBC for a local number tomorow. Thank You Viper Zero, sUn, and ROAD.;)

I told him to use IE, and obviously, knowing that IE is much easier to install spyware through, I told him to install anti-spyware programs.

My NAV04 caught 3 viruses over the period of 2 days so I think it got it. We'll have to wait.

You said DSL.

DSL doesn't call using numbers.

Make sure you disconnect your 56k line from your computer, there is some spyware called dialers, it'll call stuff through your modem, long distance numbers.

It's all disconnnected don't worry. And SBC must dial numbers because that's what it said in the letter.

Not if it's DSL. You must still have a 56k modem plugged in somewhere. Otherwise there would be no dialing. Maybe it's the phone? And you're dialing those 900 numbers?

It says ISP right on the letter. So it can't be the phone and yes we do have phone line connected. Filtered by DSL Filters.

These are what the filters somewhat look like. Here.
