Is having all those cars really important,,,
Or having a reasonable amount of cars with vary accurate real to life physics more important to you?

I remember in GT2 all those cars and a lot of them were only different on the outside, not much on the inside and the physics.

While in GT3 the number of cars was about right, and the difference was big. You had all the choices, where your choices made a difference?

Some cars in GT2, till this day, I haven’t even seen or drove…

I loved GT2 because of all the cars in it, and the chance to test drive them all around Seattle. Obviously the physics won't be as finely tuned for all the cars, but I imagine a lot will have a more than satisfactory physics model.

It will also lead to more varied races, and a bigger choice in Online racing
 
Plain and simple the more the better, and yet I know PD wont let us down on the physics department... But yea I loved GT2 because of the cars and that you could take muscle cars /classic cars etc.. and race them around too. To me the more cars and great physics are all alright to me....
 
The physics engine is a no brainer, they will not let us down, GT3 was pretty good in the physics department..
And GT4 will most probably be better,,,
Its not like I don’t want the big number of cars, but if PD put the effort in some cars the will eventually nail it,,
 
bit of a one sided poll so far, i think i tested every car on gt2 with and without upgrades. just to find a car that may give a tiny bit better power/weight ratio in its category. and i had a hell of a good time doing it. so the more the merrier!

More cars it is.

The number itself, 500, isn't significant to me. As long as there's a large variety, larger than that of most racing games. Unlike a lot of people here I don't race and test every single car, I simply stick with maybe 10 that I love and know to pieces, but I appreciate that those 10 are very different to everyone else's 10, so the more the merrier seems to ring true.
 
you should get out more, throw a few new ones around a track for a bit.. you might find an 11th

Cars!!, Thats the only reason I still play GT2.
 
The more cars in, the bigger the list of favourites.
That way they can have 20 different Miatas and 20 different Lancers, I don't care, I'll maybe use one or two of each. But I'd like to have a wide variety of cars that I see everyday in my neibourghood.
 
How about all the cars with all the physics? Because it's looking like that's what we're getting...
 
A huge number of cars increases your options of what to drive, but thats not a big deal. Most of us have a bias toward one make or model, and will try to win as many races as possible with that one car.

However, what it will also do, is allow you to race AGAINST a huge number of cars. Pitting your favorite car againt hundreds of others, with no two races being the same, will make the large number of cars pay off, even if you don't drive all them.
 
I have always had a biase towards one make (TVR), but I have always ended up using almost every car in each GT (including GT2). More cars is a massive pluse, the physics are accurate enough judging from GT4:P and the previews at E3.
 
The more cars the better, I was always dissapointed of the number of cars in GT3, when I used to have GT2 I'd keep myself busy just testing out all the cars, and with gt3 only having about 186 cars, its dissapointing since I've driven almost every car in the game, I probably still have a lot of cars I haven't driven all the cars in GT2.
 
For myself i much preffer not so many cars and more effort put into better and more options. e.g. multimplayer, mulitplayer link, no limits on tracks or car choices (in GT3 linking PS2's you coudlnt race Formula 1 cars or some tracks! GGRR). Also real life tracks e.g. like the full Formulra 1 GP tracks. Oh and did i say multiplayer options with no limits!!?? :P
 
More cars. I enjoy driving Legacy Wagons and Accord Wagons. Then all of those high-powered Japanese and German Imports and my S2000s.
 
Judging by all we've seen so far, I don't know how much more work PD could have put into the physics and perfection of each car. We're getting our cake and eating it too.

Madduck: 10 is the only acceptable number, there shall never be an 11th car. That's just ludicrous. What sort of madman are you?

But you needed more than 10 cars to finish GT3. :confused:

The more cars available makes the games replay value all the better. I think I will be playing GT4 for many years.
 
i would prefer perfect physics. sure, a billion cars would be nice, but what if they handled like Cruisin' USA? luckily, we will get a lot of cars AND good physics this time around.

I say the more the merrier, I am sure PD won't skimp on the car's handling over more cars, they will make a perfect balance. I am a major car buff and I really have likings for any car I see, whether it be a stock little 4 cylinder or a mighty V8 beast I love them all. So you can see why I am so in love with the GT series, its the amount of cars you can drive and the variety. That's why with GT3 I was a bit disapointed with the lacking 186 cars, I want to drive every car I see.
 
186 is that all? 500 is definatly a step up from gt3 if they are accurate...bring them on is just more cars to stare and drool over...well that how i see it

PD knows that you will probably never use most off them, that’s why they made specific race events limited to some car, like the Vits and Demio race events and such…
Which I thank my brother for finishing, if left to me I wouldn’t have raced them till now,,,

Okay, let's investigate some of the different facets of this issue.

First of all, some would say that Gt4 already has enough cars planned, and I'm not talking about the "778 CARS CONFIRMED!!!" hoax. Personally, more cars are always welcome, even if they are low-performing versions of the real car (for example, the S15 Silvia Vairetta and the S15 Silvia Spec-R Aero). But I don't think more than 500 cars are too much. If PD can put in as many cars as possible to give race fans a chance to pick a car and race the wheels off of it. And don't forget. It's cars from 1886 to the present. So don't think it's going to be GT2, but with more modern cars.

I bet you will, Ford Modl T race anyone.... I just hope that they are all short races on the shortest courses in the game.

After I fit the stage 4 turbo and sim tyres.
