Italian Avant Garde question

I was planning on using a stock Zonda Race Car to do the Italian Avant Garde, mostly because I think the other Zondas look stupid. I did the Monaco endurance, and I would've really liked to get the FTO or the Zonda, or even the F686/M, but I got the Jaguar. Then I did the Rome endurance -- another chance to get the Zonda, but of all things I got the Lancia Rally Car. So, the only other place I can win the Zonda Race Car is the Pro JGTC, but I was really hoping to get the AutoBacs MR-S there, so I went and bought a Zonda C12 and thought I'd try it
without any upgrades in the Italian AG.

Well, I entered the Italian AG, and it was me against 5 Zonda Race Cars. Is that really the way it's supposed to be? I would the first time I did the race there were several regular Zondas and maybe one Race Car.

Anyway, I reloaded and now I'm just going to do the Rome endurance with the F094/S. I'm just going to sit by the road for 40 minutes then start, then it'll be an 80-minute endurance, and it might actually be a challenge to catch the Griffith. As I type, I'm being lapped by the Fiat for the 8th time. :)
 
Well if you have two memory cards, you can get both the Autobacs MR-S and the Zonda Race Car from the Pro JGTC.
 
For me, I also had to race against 5 Zonda Race cars. I used a Zonda C12S stock and won. The race cars are pretty fast though.
 
i noticed a nice thing on tournaments... if it is a car you really want... then save your game before the last race and then start the race, but quit it directly... if you dont get the car you want, just load the game and do it again...
 
is it possible to use a diablo for that race?
cuz if it is ROME HERE I COME!

Same here.

I use a stock Zonda Race Car with T3's for this race. I like this car better than the regular Zondas.

The Lancia is not a bad car, if you can get past the stupid sign on the roof, and the flapping mud guards that is.:D

The Lancia is really light... I just think it looks horrible, doesn't have much power, and I'll bet it handles like crap.

I couldn't really keep up in the Italian AG with the Zonda C12S on Normal tires, and for some reason I'm on a mission to do a whole bunch of the game without buying anything. I haven't even changed the oil in any cars yet.

Well, 3rd time's a charm -- the young man is going to Il Colleseum or whatever...

Actually I've tried the Lancia out with a friend's setup for it on Swiss Alps and the car was very solid. It performed very well and the mud flaps add to the car and make it like one of the greatest cars ever. My nickname for it right now . . . the BEAST. :lol: And my friend, it may look like crap, but it does not handle like it. :lol:
 
I once saw a video that hd the Lancia racing around. The damn thing sounded awesome. It also seemed to handle the course really well.

I do fine with it in GT3. I even raced it in the Mistral Race and won.
 
I used a C12 and was pitted against 4 Diablos and 1 Zonda racecar, I won, not too far ahead of the race car (which fortunately pitted on the last lap) and miles ahead of the pack of Lambos

and is that the reason they were there?

I don't get why everyone says that the Lancia is underpowered. It only has 5 or 6 less horsepower than all the other rally cars. Maybe if it is upgraded. But I only put a Stage 1 upgrade on my rally cars at the most anyway.

And yes it is always all Zonda Race Cars here. I've never been able to beat them with a stock Zonda C12S. I don't think that is possible with a top speed under 155. The only time I ever beat them with a C12S, it was tuned to the max, and it was riding the walls the whole time! I wasn't a very good player back then. :D
 
I'm guessing that Chaser_Fan has the Japanese version of the game which did include the Nomad Diablo as a regualr inclusion.

I'd like to see the an image of the "Car Dealer" section showing it, as I've never seen much of hte japanese version.

Yep, you should hear the thing sitting there idling and then revving. It is one of the better sounding cars in the game. I think the car handles pretty well and that it is a very solid car.

They aren't underpowered in stock form, if anything I'm sure they are faster than the other rally cars because of it's lighter weight. But when you add in the bigger turbo's on the car, it doesn't quite have as much power as the rest of the rally cars.

Finished the 3rd try and got a 3rd Lancia :banghead:

The Lancia does have the best stock power/weight ratio of any rally car (except the FF Xsara), but that really doesn't mean anything, because if you're not adding any upgrades, you're looking for an underdog anyway, so you'd be better off with something else. If you're looking for power, you'd be better off with an Impreza Prototype, Focus or Escort, or just something silly like an FTO LM.

Ouch! Why wouldn't you consider it an underdog??? Noone really ever uses the Lancia . . . they take one look at it and say, "Damn that is one ugly piece . . . I would rather drive my Lancer/Impreza." But I do agree with you on the power thing, the Impreza Proto, Focus, and Escort all have the best amount of power . . . but the FTO LM??? Come on, it's not a rally car and it is overkill for the rally events. At least you could have said the CTR2, which is at least somewhat like a real rally car. :lol:

i got a f/688 s which wasnt so bad(this was the game before i restarted) and did the stupid mistake of selling my f/686 m that i used to win the 688...

Well, I did it a 4th time and got a white F688/S.

I guess there's no reason for me to hold out for a Zonda Race Car. The C12S is actually a cool looking car except for the back -- I just think the whole back end looks retarded. And since I'm trying to buy as little as possible this game, it's annoying having to buy tires for the Zonda C12S when I could just use the Race Car totally stock to win the Italian AG.

But I'll get the C12S from the Pro NA race, then I'll get the Race Car for winning the Italian AG, so I suppose it'll work out better than having two Race Cars when I'm done.

I think I'll do the SS11 endurance later tonight. That won't be nearly as frustrating. All 4 cars you get from it are really cool:

If I get the AutoBacs MR-S there, maybe I'll go ahead and get the Zonda Race Car when I do the Pro JGTC -- but Pro JGTC is the only place to get the Mugen NSX (unless you want to pay 1.25mil), so I'll probably get that instead.
 
And there are actually cool cars in the SS11 enduro -- the 787B, C5R and the Zonda, GT40 and XJ220 Race Cars.

see i cant do a enduro several times in a row i just get sick of the track:mad:
 
I noticed something weird with the game. once u turn on your PS2 and started Gran Turismo the first time u enter a race u race against slower cars but after the first time u race against faster cars. so if u start Gran Turismo and race start the ZONDA race u wil race against the regular Zondas and may be one RACE ZONDA. But after that every time u enter u will race against Racing ZONDAS. Try it out. :)
 
ya everytime i get the lancia im like who would wanna look at that for 50 laps

and whoever is bothered by understeer try playing the good old gran turismo 1 so much oversteer its bad it took me about 2 days to get used to the viper i would keep spinning because i wouldnt countersteer soon enuff and if i did it too soon i would not make the corner drifting comes in to play so much there

well after my 3 weeks of gt1 i think id rather have understeer
(i was at my sis's place about 9 hours away from here and they only got gt1... i made the mistake of forgetting gt3 on the table)
 
btw, wouldnt the car in my av. be nice to race in the IAG
