Evidently the car is to be used on a section of highway in Italy that is notorious for high speed chases, and also to transport organs for those who need transplants in a hurry.
Every hospital here in Portland has at least one helipad, I would assume all do. Unless, like I said, the Italians don't know about helicopters
A car, even a fast one, would have an extremely difficult time keeping up with a helicopter. I did a quick search for medical helicopters, the first one I found says it has a cruising speed of 140mph, and a helicopter won't need to slow down until it reaches it's destination.
I think the Camaros we've got here are about as fast as police cars need to be. The Lamborghini is kind of cool, but also pretty useless. If a pursuit gets fast enough that only a Lamborghini can keep up, then it's time to stop the chase. Or, better yet, get a helicopter out there.
