When I got home from work last night this greeted me in the garage:

For those of you who dont know what that is, it's one of my kart slicks with screws in it. Now we just have to wait until this freezes and the fun will begin.

Living on a river is probably the best place to live in the winter. A couple of years ago we had about 6 or 7 snowmobiles out here along with 5 or so three and four wheelers. Its just a really fun time, we usually make a fire right on the ice and one of the neighbors makes a track if it snows.
Heres my snowmobile, it was crashed by one of my dads friends several years ago and my dad re-built it from the ground up (including the custom paint). It is, I think an 80 or so Yamaha Exciter known by everyone as old reliable because it has pulled everyone home one time or another. It was originally a 300cc engine but just last week swapped to a 340cc engine. I was clocked at around 65mph on it when it was a 300 and it would outrun most 340 machines.

Edit: I cant get the pic to work right so just click on the link.

Sweet man, where do you live? I wish I lived on (near) a body of water. Even if I did it wouldnt matter because IT WONT GET COLD HERE!!! Its mid december and today its in the mid 50s. We usually have below freezing weather and snow by now. ugh!:yuck:

Fun stuff. I would love to do some lake driving, but the winters have been a bit warmer here recently. My dad has a great story though...

It was late January, like 30 years ago. He was riding in a car with his friend who decided he had a great idea. Of course, he wouldn't tell my dad, but he drove over towards the lake, down his drive way (he lived on the lake) and then just kept going. Straight out onto the lake. At this point my dad had slightly opened the door and was ready to jump at any sign of the ice not holding. Luckily it did (if it didn't, I probably wouldn't be here), but now I've always wanted to go out on the lake in a small car. Of course, their would be zero traction.

If only it would get cold enough again... BTW, if you are wondering, this lake is up north of Spokane, WA about 27 miles. Just google map it, lots and lots of lakes up here (there I guess, since I am at school)
