I just started playing after about 4 or 5 months and im not great at driving. But thats not my point, even before I stopped I could hardly ever find low pp restriction races and now I cant seem to find any either. Just saying.

I just spent 6 hours in a killer 500pp room. If you cannot find one keep refreshing, or open your own.

i almost always open my own room titled "clean race 450-650pp" 4-5 days a week. if you see it come by.

You are right OP there aren't a lot of low pp rooms online and of those that are, many of them are on RS tires. Driving a 450pp street car on RS tires takes about as much skill as steering a rollercoaster and isn't much fun. 450-500 pp on SS or less tires is about the most fun racing around, much closer usually than the higher pp level and with a much wider variety of competitive cars but without the RS tires it takes some real skill to be fast and most guys just aren't up to the challenge. They'd rather "race" 1000 hp cars on a 30km oval.

I had a cracking afternoon yesterday racing 450/500/550pp races...so much fun and the great thing was that the GT online environment ran smoothly - there was no freezing up even in the larger rooms. Really enjoyed it!

Tyre wear was on, I find that interesting when most people select RS and get 1 and 1/4 round the ring after sprinting away from the start. They end up in a bush as you pass them with a huge smile on your face.

That's how I wound up here in organized races, and organizing my own.
Even many of the shuffle rooms these days are jacked up PP to the highest. LOL
It's always been a mystery to me why people would buy a game with a thousand road cars to choose from of various time periods with various speeds & characteristics... and then just drive about 5 cars.
May as well just play a racing video game from 20 years ago, IMHO. Or just get a racing game that specializes in that at least.

I run a room titled "CLEAN & RELAXED" almost every night, and we run 300-500 PP shuffle races. Feel free to message me on the PSN tonight (around 10-11p CST) and I'll shoot you the room number so you can check it out.

Most people have the fixation that going faster is more fun, meaning they'll run a 1000hp room with racing softs and everyone's going a million miles a second but none of them have the skill to actually race at that level.

400pp races with comfort soft are almost always really close and exciting. You wouldn't think running a lap of the Nordschleife with slow cars would be fun but try it with 6 other cars less than a metre from you and it gets really intense.

As others have said, if you can't find a room with regulations you like, host your own. If no-one joins.. well that's pretty boring (been there many times) but even running hotlaps all alone is better than joining some 600pp bangerfest.

OK8

That's a vivid image. ;)
But yes, I think a lot of people you'll find in random pub lobbies play in gt5 arcade-style. Faster can be fun... but I think that's missing the point, personally.
I sometimes wonder why they got this particular game, if that's all they want to do.
But there is boost on high and SRF, etc... so I guess to each their own. There's something for everyone in gt5.

But no reason to stick around in a room you don't like. They're not the only game in town - truly. Just takes a bit more effort to find the pals who play the way you like to.
