...maybe you should ask the people in the drifting forum. ;)

*moved*

drifting (in my words) is a style of corner. shift the car of the car to the front (by braking) making it easier for the rear wheels to lose traction. then you enter a corner and the car oversteers (when the back of the car is about to spin out). the car is or almost is perpendicular to the corner and with control of counter-steering and revving, you maintain sideways throughout the corner, then you exit the corner completely parallel with the exit. watch Gran Dorifto vids for a thourogh visual aid. :D

Yeah I like that definition it's simple and to the point.

I have really heard “that’s a power slide, not a drift!” one too many times from people who don’t know what either of them mean.

Since you have been gone, the discussions on what a “drift” actually is, would make you laugh, or cry depending. I really hope this does not turn into one of those.

Drifting is a Japanese artform of sport driving mastered by those able to precisely and gracefully control the machine with technical driving skills combined with great braking, suspension, and tire handling capability.

Ethiks....You ruined it..Now we have a deffinition meaning we can't just post random crap here anymore..MY deffinition of a drift is as follows

A driving feat which is often misinterperated for a single technique when infact it is a style of driving in which the driver must harmonize with the vehicle in which he is driving untill it is an extension of himself, using the vehicles inertia to step across the line of traction while maintaining control of the car...
Oh yeah
Gettin all serious with it..Look at me go

Ethikz i will have to agree with shinez on this one that description sums it all up to fast and now i dont get to post any random crap on what i think the definition of drifting is. oh well maybe next time.;) All i can say is OMG sumone who doesn't know what driften is that is a sheltered existance under some kind of rock.:odd:

There's no law against posting random crap one what you think drifting is. See?

Drifting is opening the door closest to the inside curb while turning to initiate an increase in resistance, causing the tail of the car to slide out toward the turn then closing the door slowly to regain the correct driving line.

hmm drifting is like when you like make like the car slide and like your face like when you first see it is like WHoOoaOhHHh DuuUUuDe that was killer :odd:
