I've tried remote racing twice in the last 60 minutes and it says "No event found"

I've rebooted my PS3, will try one more time.

Try to reduce co-current thread/ increase driver delay in the widget settings little by little until it runs smooth. Then it should be good for ever, unless PS network is buggy.

I had the same problem yesterday trying to run remote races from work.

It happened to me a few days ago. The ps3 wasn't connected to the psn. I had to connet to the psn, go back to the main menu in gt5 and redo the steps for remote racing.
