Could care less about the oval special, but the 1976 F1 cars are awesome. That is my second favorite era of F1!

Lauda!

There has to be some sort of tie-in with the film Rush, which is also about 1975-1977 and stars the Mclaren and Ferrari (Lauda vs Hunt) battle.

^^^ Yep, they just confirmed it's a tie-in with Rush!

For the first time, “Forza Motorsport 5” will feature historic grand prix racing cars, including the 1976 McLaren M23 and the 1976 Ferrari 312-2 cars driven by Nikki Lauda and James Hunt, respectively, during the 1976 season. These models are the same cars featured in the upcoming Universal Pictures film “Rush", directed by Ron Howard, and will be available in Forza Motorsport 5 at launch. In addition, IndyCar race cars will be making their series debut in Forza Motorsport 5. The game will feature cars representing four of the top teams in the IZOD IndyCar Series: Andretti Autosport, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Target Chip Ganassi Racing, and Team Penske.

Expect great things from the tire modeling.

Seems like there is a tie in.

#Forza5 Showcase attendees now getting an exclusive look at Ron Howard's upcoming historical F1 film "Rush".

I had the realization that we may see a more advanced damage model with these cars. It may partially be wishful thinking, but Dan has mentioned several times that damage will have more serious implications this go around (exact words are escaping me at this late hour). That combined with the frequency of Indycars breaking splitters, could mean this is a possibility.

Da-Bomber
Any chance of Monaco or is that still with codemasters?

Codemasters holds the rights to current F1, but I don't think it covers a principality. Games can still have F1 tracks since the FIA doesn't own F1 race venues.

Makes me wonder what the total oval count will be. FM4 had what, Indy, Sedona, Sunset Peninsula, and Benchmark? Surely with the introduction of IndyCar, FM5 will have at least a couple more.

We can properly use Indianapolis and Infineon now!

Don't forget Motegi! I'd like to see the ones in FM4 plus Milwaukee, Iowa, Fontana and Pocono.

I knew I was forgetting one.

Texas Motor Speedway and Auto Club Speedway would be wonderful. Worn out surfaces with lots of character. If T10 really is laser scanning the real circuits, they'd be excellent additions.

I really want this game, but I don't want to support Microsofts awful draconian game console. If only the Xbox One wasn't so god damn terrible.

I disagree. The 'intake cars' of 1975 were a little strange, but nothing like this monstrosity, aka current F1 cars, which are the ugliest ever, IMO:

But more than appearance, the late 70s F1 cars were cool because they were so experimental. Ground effects and crazy aero packages were beginning to appear and the cars were great fun to watch as they slid around and jumped. Though I wasn't yet extant back then, I can appreciate them.

I beg to differ..

Wait, you chose a caterham, of all things, to judge the whole F1 fleet?

Oh, I want to see what you say next.
