Hi, i recently brought the above car. The problem is it always wants to spin out on corners. I have racing soft tyres on it. Any ideas?

There is a tune in the wiki files but even with that it still fishtails and smokes. It seems to be one of those cars that does that no matter what.

Honestly, better throttle control. I won the classic car races with it completely stock, just an oil change. LSD will help too though. Racing softs for this car are way overkill.

That's mine... Okay, second time somebody tell that, I have to rework it at least to see if everything is still ok.

It's a RR guys, there's no magic ! Learn to drive RR !

It's an FR not an RR

just restore rigidity, and buy the rigidity improvements from the tuning shop and then just have fun with the spinning that remains

The car comes with a stock LSD...both rear tires spin.
This is a great car with just an oil change and sport hard tires.
It is all about just learning how to drive.

Yeah you're rigth.

Still, all the weight is at the rear of the car : rear transmission weights a lot in that car. So she acts naturally like a littleA/C cobra (look at default tune, just to be sure of that). Maybe I underlooked her, sincebeing behing her steering wheel for 500/1000km makes you having driving habits that are not easy to take for 50km drivers.... :/

I learned a few new tricks since I posted her, that migth not harm her (but not transform her). Please remember stock setup when you pick a setup.

And hey ! And if everybody is so unhappy just post it in the setup, I would redo her sooner !!
I can take a few "you did a bad job because x, y and z", I'm 33 you know :)
But just a few :D

Just for information, without people giving their opinion, tuners can't do anything about an old setup you know... Give your opinion ! We seek that !

The E-Type is nearly 50/50 exactly. The most off balance version was the V12 and that was 53/47 front to rear. The rest are all within a half percent or so of being dead on 50/50.

With weight reductions ?

edit- I'm not denying your info which is very very valuable but weight reduction transforms that.

Haven't a clue how weight reductions change things. I don't think the game gives any good way to see the distribution, but the numbers I gave are the ones for the actual car.

How does weight reduction change weight distribution? I'm not saying it wouldn't, but can you prove it changes in GT5?

Oh my god this car is a nightmare.

It requires :
- method B LSD (aka "oldschool" method - pre seventies) 26/5/10 for this very moment of pretests.
- low transmission part (single clutch/sports flywheel, I'm watching stock transmission tree now)
- 50/50 which I didn't saw (I made more like ~60% front ~40% rear) : reset the RH to -25 and "the wiki setup" is 50/50 (hey guys, the "wiki setup" comes from this very forum so go post there)

=> result : the handling is just only "a few" improved but the driving is harder (it requires exactitude due to method B) - it's not only a very hard car to run, but a very rigourous car to drive. Back in the 70's, in fact. So as much I can help, she's not meant for casual drivers...

Prove, yes, if you speak fluent technical french, have a physic mind, have two same unmodified cars and have a mic ;) Words like "force centrifuge, force centripète, sous-virage en courbe, moment de force" would come out.
Another thing that make it more difficult, I made physic studies, so I can have a deep level of explanations :)

Basically, take two cars, go to level reduction 3 with one, improve the HP of the other until the hp/kg is more or less the same.

Then go on a track you know by heart, drive them both with stock setting.
The one who understeer would have the more weigth distrib toward the rear.

Btw weigth distrib changed in GT4 and GT3 allready.

You're too hard on the throttle coming out of the turn. Either throttle out later than you normally do or try to be a bit easier on the throttle. It was a hard car to learn but as soon as I started being a bit easier on the gas I managed to win the races I wanted to win without any modifications except the oil change. 👍 And for must other cases try messing with with assists.

I'm quite certain this is completely backwards. Front heavy cars understeer while rear heavy cars oversteer.

Cars sitting still are still going to be 50/50 no matter what. Depends on where the weight is removed. The weight distribution will be the same, just less weight to throw around.

learn to drive? If you can't control 240hp on racing soft, you are going to miss out a lot of great cars in GT5.

I think it's a greater problem than with the car's handling, it's a toss-able and forgiving car.

Ding! Change settings. Drive it. Learn from it. Adapt. People just think there is 1 fix for a certain problem. They don't want to take the time to figure things out.

Err no.

If you remove the back sits of a 4 seats car the weigth will be lost in rear mainly.
At apex you'll remove more outside kinetic energy at the rear than at the front.

Hence your SR/comp should reflect that to have an appropriate answer.

That's what I said. "Depends on WHERE you remove the weight"

But, there is no indication of WHERE the weight in removed in GT5. I would assume it would be an even amount of weight reduction.

it could be, because apparently nothing is removed from the interior, they probably just lightened the car on a modular level :p

Nothing is really "removed." The number that represents weight is lowered. And the physics change to show that. That's about it lol.

+1

The car is a little drift happy, just gotta keep the car in check. I honestly loved how loose it was in the turns and how much body roll there was. Felt like a 50 year old drift car. But if that type of driving isn't your style, the LSD and suspension upgrades should make things more controlable.

Cheers for all the help guys! I added a LSD and got on with it. After using the guy in 1st as a break on one of the hairpins i sailed through.
